The hotel's computer system went down, so I came here for a bite and a drink. The crab Mac & Cheese is fabulous, and the portion size is huge with lots of crab in the dish.

48 Degrees North is attached to the Red Lion hotel. We were there midweek so there was a smallish crowd and it was cooler so using their outdoor seating was not an option. Nice view of the water. Food was decent but not great. Service was very friendly and fairly prompt (server was also the bar tender that night).

Our server was friendly but it took quite a long time to get our food. it was during happy hour time and it seemed we we were out of sinc since we odered regular food. For the price I expected a little better service and maybe enough butter for my baked potato. I expected some sour creme but was never offered any. had to ask for more butter. the view of course of the harbor was great but we chose to leave the area for our next meals. I would not be recommending this place to anyone. when your treated more as a problem than a customer it does no reflect well

I’m the skeptical husband in the last review, all the food we ordered was great. Genuinely left very impressed overall with the food (halibut and chips, Mac & cheese, apple & pear salad)

Found this place on Google - big day hiking & menu looked GREAT. Husband was skeptical because it’s a hotel restaurant with 3.6 on Google and minimal food photos online. Waitress recommended halibut and what a stellar rec!! We got the Apple & Pear Salad, Side of Mac, and Halibut Fish and Chips. Everything was phenomenal - ale beer batter on the fish was not greasy & flavorful. Fish was perfectly flakey. Coleslaw, salad and fries were also great. Mac & cheese was creamy and delicious. Overall - don’t let the reviews or lack of photos deter you (adding 3 here - camera did not eat first). The waterfront view is lovely during sunset, service is relatively quick & attentive, and food is great!

Heads-up: There’s a 2.5% credit card processing fee, avoid it by paying cash or using a debit card.
Located onsite at the Red Lion Hotel, this spot has pleasant outdoor seating with umbrellas, offering half a view of the bay and pedestrian walkway, and half of the wharf. Breakfast and lunch are served on one side, dinner at The Compass Room on the other.
Food quality is typical hotel restaurant fare, nothing remarkable. Daily happy hour runs 4–6 pm. Our server was excellent, especially considering he had four tables and we were the only ones seated outside.
What we ordered:
-Oyster shooter ($2 HH): Far too large for a shooter, skip it.
-Shrimp tacos (2 for $12 HH): No flavor.
-Grilled cheese & tomato bisque ($14 HH): Nice crispy sourdough; bisque had a bitter aftertaste.
-Fish & chips (regular price): Just okay; fries were stale.
Free public parking at the wharf across the street, plus free street parking. Clean restrooms with toilet seat covers.

Averages 3 stars for a reason. Once in a blue moon they will serve good food, but consistently sub-par.
Called in an order tonight, asked if something came with veggies, and was told she did not know. What?
Came to pickup the food- was treated like an inconvenience and the front didnt know how to accept cash as payment. Again.... what??
Very weird vibes. Wouldn't recommend. 3 stars because the food was edible but like hospital food at best unfortunately

Nicole Devon Justin Bradley gave excellent sirvice skills catering.to the many needs of the patrons walking in and with reservation. Topo Vana was the excitemint in the room as they played their specialty... with 🎶 and a staff ready to cater and serve while you look out at the stunning views of the harbor... after leaving take a walk on the pier with the locals and experience this.landscape. bring a jacket and cozy up in this.port.... 🙏 amen

I am slightly lost as to why this place has a sub par rating as we had great food and were greeted very well at this place. We had their chowder, crab and shrimp cakes, and shrimp basket, all of which were pretty good specially the sauce with the basket. The river view is a highlight. We got complimentary coffee and our chowder was upsized as well.

Food was fair last year, service was pathetic at best both last and this year, walked out this year and won't be back.
The 48 Degrees team was a delight to work with during our week-long family reunion in Port Angeles. 20 adults +n10 kids under 12? Non-dairy, vegetarian or vegan dietary requirements? No problem -- they made it happen, deliciously and hospitably.

We just moved to WA and visited Port Angeles today and stopped here for lunch. The place was completely dead. The AC was cranked so high it was like a frozen tundra. The waitress came over and took only the kids' drink orders and an appetizer order. She then asked if we wanted to put the kids food order in and my husband and I said no and she took our drink orders. The appetizer came out and then time just kept passing. Never checked on us and never came to take our lunch order. My kids were RESTLESS. Throwing paper, crayons, yelling etc. No other waitress around. Ghost town. I sat for about 5 mins up front waiting to try and get someone to get my bill. The waitress comes out and I tell her I need my check because I can't keep waiting on her. She doesn't apologize or anything.
There was absolutely no reason for such poor service today with a restaurant being a ghost town!
