Conveniently located within short walking distance from the Blackball Ferry I decided to pop in for a quick bite before the ferry arrived. After navigating the flock of loitering teenagers near the entrance, don't worry, they're harmless, I entered and sat at the bar where I was greeted by the surly bartender who couldn't care less about my presence. I ordered a burger and a beer. When the food arrived after about 10min there was no cutlery in sight so I requested some from the bartender and got the feeling that this was a major inconvenience for him as he had to walk 10 steps to the cutlery station behind the bar to get me a fork.

The food: The patty was tasty and well seasoned and well cooked but the condiments on the burger; lettuce, tomato and burnt to a crisp bacon were slapped together with not a lot of attention given to presentation. Fries are good.

Paying $29 for a burger and a beer I expect better presentation and service. The bartender needs to work on his attitude and customer engagement skills and the kitchen needs to work on food presentation. I doubt I'll return.

used to be on our weekly rotation and go-to when family came to visit. but won’t be back until they bring back the beyond burger. black bean patties weren’t even good when i went vegetarian in 2007. tried to reach out but the response was unhelpful. hope they 86 the black beans soon!

We stopped for a late lunch on. Sunday, and it was not too busy. The food was good, and the place has a cool vibe. I had the Sweet Spot with tater tots.

I really wanted to enjoy this place but it was rough. It's a place where you order at the counter, and the woman upfront told us to wait a moment to order., We watched for three minutes as she stood two feet from the register doing some sort of maintenance on the soda machine. I also normally don't mind tipping, but they had their machine set to have the lowest suggest tip at 25 percent. For a quick service restaurant in the roughest part of downtown this was quite strange. All the tables were dirty and had a view of the bus center, with drug addicted teenagers sitting right outside of the windows. They delivered the appetizer at the same time as the rest of our food which I found strange. The actual food was cold and bland, especially for the high cost. I don't think The Rail knows what it wants to be. The attempt at aesthetics and high price might suggest a hip downtown eatery but the bland food and awful location is reminiscent of a chain in a mall parking lot

Delicious food, drinks, and friendly staff! I want to go back for the Ahi Tuna Melt SOOO badly! The wait was a bit long, but that happened to be around the time there was a petroleum spill nearby, so other restaurants were closed and this was one of the few places that were open.
