Food was fine. They are now adding a mandatory 8% gratuity for the back of house staff and still expecting you to tip your wait staff. The waitress will spend a minute explaining that to you when they drop off the receipt. Asking for double tips when one meal is already $40 is pretty wild.

Customers, you need to drive responsibly. The Birch and Barley is but a small property that’s in front of hundreds and hundreds of apartment units, where people live permanently. Students, the elderly and disabled people alike live here, not just NPCs.

This video shows two residents safely turning onto Bleasner to return home and a customer ignorantly blocks the street from the main road, where cars are driving at least 25mph, as if they’re just not looking at all. YOU need to be watching the main road if you are to use the closest exit. If you’re too impatient to do that, you can use the second one thats further to the right in the video, you’ll have far more judgment-making time. But it is ultimately YOUR responsibility to be aware of surroundings when operating vehicles. You shouldn’t be touching your pedals or wheel if you’ve had alcohol, here.

This morning me and another resident were almost hit by two different cars backing up without looking at their mirror. We had to walk in the middle of the lot where it was plowed and the least icy, for safety. It’s broad daylight, I know you’re capable of taking 5 seconds to look at your mirrors before you let off the brake. I’m a young person and I’m capable of that when I drive, so I know you are too.

The burgers, mac and cheese and copious variations of alcoholic beverages don’t make up for how consistently rude the customers and employees are. Have some spatial awareness for Christ’s sake, it’s not our responsibility to watch out for your reckless decision making. Feel free to look up the Pullman district zone map if you don’t believe me, you’re on the edge of a residential district. Consider also refreshing yourself on the concept of right-of-way, as well as the 10pm-7am noise ordinance in Pullman.

Be decent community members, life’s better for everyone when we’re all doing our part.

We had good service, good food and a nice spot to sit! Then we went to pay and were told there was a mandatory 8% tip added to our ticket for the people in the kitchen. If we want to tip our server that would be separate from the 8% auto-charge. Sad. It really put a damper on the experience and led us to not want to tip a much as we would have. Probably not a place we will go again.

Probably my favorite Pullman restaurant. Good beer selection and some of the best food for the price.

One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. My Old Fashioned was spectacular and the Bayou Catfish was out of this world! The mussels appetizer was also top tier. Highly recommend this place.
