The food is not particularly good, to be honest. But the vintage atmosphere and friendly service make a decent lunch spot if you are craving some classic American offerings.

EDIT: Reached out to the email in the owner's reply and did not receive a response. Onion rings I received in my second trip were undercooked. Disappointing. Only thing saving this business are the staff, who are providing good customer service.

Good onion rings and CB burger. Portions are very small for the small onion rings, I got about 3.

A restaurant that sells milkshakes should sell fries suitable for dipping into those shakes. Please bring back the thick crinkle cut fries.

Please bring back the old recipes… the burgers use to be excellent… now just meh.

I stopped today to get food for my husband. He wanted a burger with mushrooms and onion rings with a Reese's Premium Cyclone. They were out of Reese's cups, which is fine so we got a Snickers. The Premium Cyclones are $7.99. While I was looking at the receipt, I was charged an extra $.50 for the Snickers. It is $.50 so I wasn't too concerned but I did ask because the menu doesn't say that Snickers in the Cyclone would cost more. I was told all add-ins cost extra so I asked what a Cyclone would be without add-ins. The employee didn't have an answer as to why it cost extra and just said that she didn't control the pricing. I've worked customer service, I'm not upset at her or anything. I just thought people should be aware that they are charging extra for add-ins on Cyclones despite the menu not stating that.
The food was good though and my husband loves the onion rings.

I was interested to see what the place was like under new management, and did the drive through. The person who greeted me was very friendly and on top of things, got my food out to me quickly and I have no complaints about her. But the food itself has clearly changed a lot, and not for the best.

I got chicken and fries, something very simple with no frills. And I was very much let down. The fries in particular were miserable to eat. I was fond of the thick fries before, but I can enjoy a thin fry. It's pretty rare I've encountered french fries I didn't like. This set a record for how fast I could be disappointed. The fries I got were thin, saltless, and had a soggy texture to them right out of the bag. I hate wasting food, so I tried to finish them by adding salt once I got home, but by that point they were even more soggy having not managed to last the half hour trip. I ended up giving up half way through and just throwing them out.

The chicken wasn't awful, but it wasn't good either. Certainly not to the same quality that it was before. It tasted drier and the bread crumb coating didn't taste as good. But I did finish them and they were okay. Just not really what I was expecting.

Overall I'm really sad to see the massive quality drop under the new ownership. I strongly prefer to eat locally when I can, but for the price and poor quality in return, I can't really see myself coming back here over other fast food options.

I have been eating at here for 34 years and am thoroughly disgusted with the food after this most recent ownership change. The chicken strips were burned and tasted burnt grease. The fries were also overcooked. The bun on the hamburger is so thin the patty falls out. The Coke was flat and the menu change sucks. Everybody wants the same menu, with the same recipes and don't change the fry sauce!.

Wow, ordered a kids cheeseburger and it had nothing on it and was barely even a burger, super not impressed, very expensive but low quality food!

The change in ownership seems to have hurt the quality. Fries were soggy, oily and overall disappointing. Sad to see the butch burger leave the menu. The veggie seemed heavy with mayo. We will likely not be returning :(

Seriously good shakes! Staff is super friendly and helpful.

Awesome burgers, onion rings, and fries.

Old menu items like the delicious crinkle cut fries and mushroom burger with swiss made the price of Cougar Country worth it. While the burger is still decent I’m sad to say that many changes to the menu are not an improvement. I’m not sure we’ll be frequenting this local business anymore after enjoying their food for so long. :(

Delicious burgers, fries and shakes.

The place you once knew is gone. There menu is gone prices are. With the prices being up the food quality got worse. There burgers have changed and are garbage. However the one thing that is hard to mess up is there shakes.

Ordered one cheese burger, one double cheeseburger and a large fry. Neither burger came with any cheese and the large fry only came half filled. Not super happy considering it took about 45 minutes to order and get food. So far not impressed.

Update under new ownership again

Somehow it got worse. Got rid of the cougar country fries and sauce.

If you are going to change everything that gives a place history and that everyone loves you are better off just opening a new place so you won't be held to the same standards and expectations.
