One of the best rib eyes I have ever eaten. Great wine suggestion and brilliant timing from the server.

We come here about once a month from Spokane. Nick, Chef and owner is very friendly and kind. Their 32 oz Ribeye special with 3 or 4 sides was one of the best steaks I've eaten and I only eat Ribeyes and a lot of them?

Took my daughter and her friend to dinner here recently during a visit to town. It was busy, make a reservation in advance (as we did). We were seated right away because we had a reservation. Parking can be a bit tough with construction in the area but we found a free parking spot just a short walk away. The food and drink were delicious. Service was attentive and friendly. Prices are a bit higher than other establishments nearby but fair for what you get.

One of the nicer restaurants in the small town of Pullman
Service is great and the atmosphere is perfect for a date night or birthday celebration
Prices are reasonable as well
Just not a lot of selection
Strongly recommend the Black Cypress Dips for an appetizer…. So delicious!
The recoco mocktail $9 is also nice
We also got the 16oz ribeye to share
However that was very mediocre
A bit overcooked and not very tender meat

Overall a great experience! We had someone in our party that has a shellfish allergy and the staff was very careful not to contaminate their food. We started with an appetizer: the Black Cypress Dipper Platter, and the bread that came with is was SO delicious! It was perfectly salty, soft, and a little bit chewy but still flaky! We also got some house buns, and those were so soft on the inside with a super thin layer of buttery crust and sea salt and a slight hint of lemon zest. Our entrées included the Caesar Salad, the Pasta Carbonara, and the Pork Chop. The Carbonara had thinly sliced Parmesan perhaps Romano or Asiago with large chunks of specialty bacon smoked to perfection. The bacon was chewy with a tiny bit of char and the dish overall was precisely what I think of when I hear Pasta Carbonara. I didn't try the Caesar Salad, but the Pork Chop was tender and juicy, lightly seasoned, however I think it could have used just a pinch more salt. It came with a vegetable slaw that was so fresh it had such a wonderful snap when chewing it. The mashed potatoes were absolutely perfect, smooth and rich with flavor. I also ordered a Strawberry Lemonade, completely hand squeezed and I could taste the freshness of the lemon juice and the balanced sweetness of the simple syrup made from real sugar. Our dessert was the Brownie that came with three scoops of chocolate ice cream, toasted marshmallow cream, a sort of thin chewy cookie, and a decadent gooey brownie with that perfect flakey layer on top. My ONLY complaint was that the people behind us were quite loud and at times a little obnoxious however, that wasn't the restaurant's fault and they couldn't have prevented that. The restrooms were clean and flawlessly decorated. Our server was very professional, and the service overall was absolutely impressive. Our tab came to $144 for an appetizer, two lemonades, two plates of house buns, three entrées, and a dessert. Considering the quality of the food, the outstanding service, and the lovely experience my family and I had, that is a pretty good deal for fine dining for three. The Black Cypress is the best fine dining restaurant in the Palouse area.

Dietary restrictions: The staff at Black Cypress took a shellfish allergy seriously, and prepared our food with the utmost care to be sure there was no cross contamination.

I've been to restaurants in Norway, Denmark, Germany, Japan, Taiwan, Canada, Malta, Croatia, Greece, Montenegro, England, Ireland, Italy, etc. still by far my most favorite restaurant. The closest tie in the United States would be the Pink House in Savannah. Their Roast Chicken over Fried Kale & Bed Salad is on par with the best Duck Confit. Benchmarking against cocktail bars & speakeasies all over the globe, the thoughtful cocktails and the consistent caliber of bartenders are unbeatable.

Don't let "bad reviews" deter anyone. Black Cypress always aims to please their customers. Communicate with your waiter/waitress

Probably the best food in Pullman. When everyone recommends the Carbonara, you listen and order it. Wow! Glad I got the full order, lunch the next day!
