Wonderful experience yesterday taking my dad who lived in NOLA for 6 years. He loved the crayfish etoufee. The rest of table was pleased with real blackened chicken salad, blackened catfish and rice, and kids burger. Best fries I've had in a long time.

The Pecan Crusted Catfish & The Blackened Catfish are both so delicious! This place may be small, but the portions are filling. I highly recommend giving this place a try. No regrets.

The owner and staff at Bourbon Street Restaurant were very accommodating, polite, and friendly. The food was very tasteful and seasoned to perfection. After being here for 2 months, I have already eaten here 5 times which speaks to the quality of service and delightful atmosphere. Moving to the northwest has reminded me of New Orleans. “Home away from Home”. This is by far the best food I have eaten in Washington. Not to mention, last night I was invited to participate in a food tasting at the owner’s new restaurant Chez Lafayette located at 1101 Tacoma Ave S, Tacoma. Just when I thought it could get any better, I was amazed and astonished of once again. The atmosphere and taste again exceeded my expectation. If you are looking for excellent food, relaxing environment with warm friendly service Chez Lafayette and Bourbon Street Restaurant are definitely the place to be. Thanks, Mike for making me feel at home.

First time, we sat outside. Super attentive staff. I had the Jambalaya. Delicious! Plenty in the bowl. My son got the crawfish etouffee. That was tasty also!
Definitely want to go again.

We were excited to come here since my wife and I love creole and cajun food. We assumed the seafood here would be great, so my wife got the fried shrimp basket and I got the shrimp po boy.

First, the food took about 50 minutes to come out. We were seated at around 6:05pm and ordered almost immediately after. We got our food a few minutes before 7pm. It was a Tuesday evening and the restaurant was not even half full, needless to say we were irritated.

My wife’s fried shrimp basket came with 8-10 medium size fried shrimp and about a pound of garlic french fries with some dipping sauces. It cost $23. It was underwhelming, it was comparable to Popeyes fried shrimp but double the price. It looked like a massive amount of french fries with some small sad shrimps thrown on top.

My shrimp Po boy was also extremely mediocre. I prefer a Po boy with large fried shrimp, even if there are only 4-5 in the sandwich. This Po boy had small shrimps and there were not enough to cover the whole sandwich. By the end of the sandwich I was eating just bread. The bread also tasted pretty cheap, similar to the .99 cent bread rolls you can get from Safeway or Fred Meyer. The sandwich came with garlic fries and cost nearly $19.

Overall the food was negligibly mediocre. The check came to nearly $50, however the food and service definitely was not worth the price. The server must have noticed we were not very enthusiastic about the food and brought us some beignets, on the house. We appreciated the gesture, however, the beignets were just fried pieces of dough with an ungodly amount of powdered sugar on top. There was probably three full cups of powdered sugar on top. The beignets were very dry and badly needed a dipping sauce, but none was provided.

Overall, this restaurant is not one I would recommend. We have had much better fried shrimp and shrimp Po boys at Asian style seafood boil restaurants, that do not even claim to be Creole or Cajun inspired. This place is not worth visiting, imo.

This was the second time here and our waitress Taylor was absolutely so sweet, knowledgeable and the fact that it was just her waiting on everyone, she is a rockstar! The food was absolutely delicious from the appetizers to the entrees. I’d definitely recommend eating here if you’re craving some creole food.
