My food is always correct, the hostess is friendly and helpful. Service is very fast. Some of the best teriyaki near South Hill.

I'm originally from Puyallup, but moved away years ago. I stop here every visit for the teriyaki chicken! Portion is great. Friendly service. Awesome teriyaki.

I placed an online order, Arived when it was due to be ready, and the nice lady at the front register asked if I had placed an order online. I replied YES. She asked my name. I gave her my name and she looked at a few bags and told me it wasn't ready yet. I'm thinking no big deal...Thier a little busy, things happen. 20 minutes later she asked me my name again and I gave it to her, all so she could pick up the vary bag she had already looked at 20 minutes ago. She then tells me she must have made a mistake. The mistake was me ordering there. It's always nice to spend $80+ at a business that doesn't seem to care and let le leave with cool-warm food.

I’ve been coming to this location for over 30 years. I haven’t been for a few years and my kid was really craving teriyaki so we made the drive to Puyallup for a little nostalgia.
I don’t think this place is managed by the same people. The place looks pretty much the same but possibly under new management.
The older woman who worked here for many years was not here. I didn’t recognize any of the usual staff. There is another woman behind the counter tonight. She was busy getting things done. She is loud and capable, but could rub people the wrong way. She means well, but I think things get lost in translation. For example this evening a customer ordered food through DoorDash and came to pick it up. The woman behind the counter tried to tell the customer it would be $20 cheaper to order through the store directly instead of paying for in-store pickup through DoorDash. The woman behind the counter came across loud and bossy. The customer left upset and obviously confused. The woman behind the counter said she just wanted her customers to not pay extra money.
The food tonight is different than it had been all the years I’ve known this place too. Everything is saucy, even the teriyaki. Still has a good taste and good sized portions, just different. The woman behind the counter was juggling online orders, phone orders, walk-in orders and table service. Our drinks were refilled twice and our food came out quick and hot. Bathrooms were clean, restaurant was clean.
Tonight is Thursday and there was a lot of business there.

Super nice owners!! True to their word and are truly open until 9 like they say, no early closing. Owners are very polite, food is quality 💯I rarely leave reviews, but this place deserves the 5 stars and plus some. Coming back again and again!
I had this door dashed to my house while I was at work. I had plenty of food for dinner and to take some to lunch. The spicy chicken was very good.

Ordered steamed veggies for all the entrees. Received steamed salad with a single piece of broccoli in each one. Very obvious that they realized their mistake, but instead of fixing it, just figured a single piece of broccoli made it right. For the price, I had hoped for better. This place has been my go to when I want bulgogi, but I'm really disappointed. The rest of the food was OK. I guess just steamed rice only from here on out.
This restaurant must have changed management, as my experience in 2021/2022 was outstanding—excellent service, delicious food, and an overall great vibe. However, my most recent visit over the weekend was a complete disappointment. The honey garlic chicken was awful, with more breading than meat and an unpleasant flavor. The spicy chicken teriyaki was overly fatty and lacked any actual spice. My friend ordered the bento box but was given the wrong dish entirely. As for the shrimp teriyaki, it consisted of just four tiny shrimp with little flavor.
What really soured the experience was the rude attitude from the waitress at the counter. When we returned with the wrong order, she tried to belittle and embarrass us in front of other customers. She insisted that I was lying about receiving the wrong order, even suggesting that we ate part of it and only brought back half. In reality, they gave us the wrong order to begin with, so of course, we returned it. She then arrogantly asked, "So what exactly do you want me to refund?" To top it off, when I got home, I realized she only refunded part of the amount.
After reading more recent reviews, I’ve learned that this attitude is typical for her, and she often talks down to customers. Apparently, she is the owner now, so if you decide to visit, be prepared to be treated poorly.
Overall, this was an incredibly disappointing experience. My friend who was visiting from Seattle left feeling let down, and I certainly won’t be returning. If you're looking for a pleasant atmosphere with good food in Puyallup, then let me be the first to tell you: This is definitely NOT the place for you.

Was hoping it was good very disappointed
Let’s start here, the lady working there (possible owner- horrible attitude) !! I can’t believe I spent $70 on rude service, two tiny little meals, and poor service.Extremely small portions. One scoop of fried rice (which was all soggy peas), short ribs that were mostly bones, and rude service!!!!
There, I got more specific with my review since you’re extremely confused on the message! No one cares about the $$$- it’s the quality of food and service.
When I eat at HONTO Teriyaki II in Bonney Lake, it costs the EXACT same- except, they have name brand water, normal size delicious portions of food, and extremely kind owners.
So when I mention several issues with my experience and your response is that all teriyaki places charge that, you’re missing the mark! Like, what?!
It’s annoying to spend $70 and the food is less than par and the lady behind the counter is angry at the world! This is after she was yelling over me on the phone, BTW.
You have about 250 reviews talking about how rude the woman is…. So, I would stop defending prices and work on a better attitude! Turn that frown, upside down!!!
Cheers Mate!

My basic chicken teriyaki arrived in a quick 5 minutes but it certainly was not made to order - it was barely warm. Way too much sauce too. I was in a rush so I ate what I could and had the rest for dinner, properly warmed up and and not drowned in sauce. Was pretty good that way. I'll go elsewhere next time I want teriyaki.
