Food is always good and fresh. Most of the employees are kind and friendly.

My family and I have always been ardent fans of Jimmy John's. We've visited nearly every location in the Tacoma/Puyallup area, including the one in Sumner. Unfortunately, over the years, we've noticed a significant decline in the quality of the store on South Hill. This decline encompasses cleanliness, customer service, speed of service, and even the quality of the food.
On Saturday, December 27, 2025, I decided to order sandwiches from this location before finishing my grocery shopping. Based on previous experiences, I knew it might be a while before the sandwiches were ready. Arriving 20 minutes later, I found a chaotic scene: one girl was making sandwiches, a young man was walking around, and another was cutting meat.
The young man approached me and asked if I was there to pick up an order. After confirming, he informed me that my order hadn't been started yet, but it was next in line. Meanwhile, a gentleman enter the store began discussing an issue with another young man about being unable to order a sandwich online.
Suddenly, the girl making sandwiches interrupted, loudly announcing across the restaurant that they couldn't make a particular sandwich due to a lack of sauce. The situation escalated as everyone attempted to assist this one customer, but the girl's shouting only created more confusion. Despite being there for ten minutes, I saw no sandwiches made.
Growing impatient, I asked if my order was ready. The girl curtly responded that she had two orders ahead of mine and offered to refund my money if I couldn't wait any longer. Our exchange grew heated as she continued to argue instead of focusing on her work. In frustration, I asked her to stop talking and concentrate on making the sandwiches. Eventually, she slammed my order on the counter, threatened to call the police, and refused to provide her name, claiming to be the general manager.
This isn't the first time I've experienced issues at this location, particularly when this employee is working. I have previously tried to address these concerns with Jimmy John's customer service. It's clear that this store needs serious attention from the company's founders.
Moving forward, my family and I will go out of our way to visit other locations, hoping for a better experience

Jimmy John's is usually my favorite but I just sat in the drive through for 54 minutes. There is no way to bail out of the drive through.

Got the picklewich with tuna. The pickle was good the chips were good the service was great. The tuna on the other hand was very fishy and a lot of onions that smelled not so fresh...... the pickle ranch was meh. Not really going to pay 13$ to try it again.

Rude Employees and Crappy Customer Service.
Ordered a sandwich for delivery, an hour goes by and they tell us the sandwich was just sitting there waiting for the driver. We ask how long for the driver to get to us they say he hasn't come back and still has 6 deliveries. We ask how long the sandwich has been sitting they tell us 15-20 minutes. At this point the employee is scoffing and annoyed at us. I don't think any employee there would want to wait 2 hours for a soggy sandwich, nor would want their money wasted. The lack of common sense and accountability is frustrating.
If there's that much of a delay you should let the customers know, common sense says nobody wants a soggy sandwich delivered or when they end up picking it up because delivery took too long.

They will mess up your order and treat you like you want free food, even if you got your receipt 😬. They need better training or something but don’t assume someone wants free food when you get told to correct something

Ordered a sandwich off the menu with no modifications.
Came out fully wrong and not toasted when toasted is literally in the name.
It’s not hard to make this correctly.

They were SO SLAMMED when we walked in. Even though we had to wait a little extra for our food, the customer service was great. The whole team really went above and beyond.

Walked in and 2 employees were having a REALLY loud sort of arguement about remaking something at the counter and lobby area. It was really awkward and loud. The guy that greeted us and was going to take our order was sweet, but the other 2? We ended up just leaving.

Dude on window and mic making inappropriate noises and messing around, couldn’t order. Went to window dude that had just taken trash out went straight to sandwich prep without washing or changing gloves.

My son likes to eat a nice healthy sandwich after working out.
I love their Chicken Bacon Ranch sandwich.
We order here often from DoorDash pickup. They are very fast, it is usually ready before expected.
Tonight I was not feeling my best and when I walked in I was showered with compliments from multiple people and it made me feel so good about myself.
I wish all customer service employees were so friendly.
