I’ve been here a few times with my husband, daughter, cousin and other family members. The restaurant is located off 39th Avenue across from Chik-fil-A and behind Mukja Korean Barbecue restaurant. Parking is limited in the front section of the restaurant. More parking at the left side of the building.
The employees are nice and welcoming. The interior is clean, not so bright, slightly dark interior and comfortable vibe.
We have ordered and tried the following:
-Bento box with beef and mixed tempura. (yummy😋)
-Dynamite roll (it’s ok)
-Crunch Shrimp roll (yummy😋)
-Seaweed salad (yummy😋)
-Epic Spicy Tuna roll (yummy😋)
-Rockstar roll (yummy😋)
-Mt Fuji roll (yummy😋)
-Ari roll (yummy😋)
Happy and returning customers! 😃
Cody was amazing and very inviting, knowledgeable, kind and gracious. She was incredibly personable and although this part sounds a bit weird to me, my family would go back just to see her sunny disposition in this gray & overcast Washington weather. It was quite refreshing. My wife was thoroughly pleased and my children enjoyed meeting her, too. It was a bit slower, that day so she was only split between 4 groups but I doubt her attentiveness suffers from being busy. She was that impactful with her service.
We wish her and the staff at Sushi Ari all the success possible! They were all amazing!
Service was great. Food not so much. Thecooks were too busy watching TV and burnt the roll. Not over cooked black burnt. Disgusting.
The manager is a boss babe, best sushi in the county hands down
I had high expectations since the rsting is high. The tempura batter was heavy. The chicken teriyaki portion was small. The location is nice but overall it was okay.
I am not great with words for this place. You just will have to try it for yourself! Fish, very fresh!!
Decent dinner- saw the rating and decided to give it try. We were seated fast and there was a lot going on. Nothing wrong with the place, sushi was good, got everything relatively quick but the water, I couldn’t get past the taste of the water- I ordered a sparkling water to get by.
Pros- quick seating, decent service and food was good
Cons- small space for dining, water tasted like tap water
Went there with family and we enjoyed the service and food. I gave 4 stars for food due to 1 fried item having a strong fish smell, but the server was nice and noticed that we didn't eat, so they gave us a discount for it without asking, which was very nice of them. We will be back again and highly recommend to locals in Puyallup to try this restaurant.
It’s good sushi and the staff are attentive.
I’ve eaten at Sushi Ari four times in the last two months. I’ve been impressed every single time. I’ve had about half of their menu and each item has been top tier. The quality of fish is excellent and a very good value. Their front end team is exceptional; they are polite, friendly, and have excellent recommendations. Their front end atmosphere is warm and relaxing. I’m very impressed and I’m sure you will be too. If you try it you’ll likely be back. Bravo Sushi Ari!

It is the best. Local and authentic. Super nice staff. More than sushi, they have cooked options as well with great appetizers. Restaurant deserves 5 stars. Food has always been fresh here.

Traditional sushi roll selections. Nothing on the menu that would stir the imagination, but what I tried was good. The standout here was the hostess, she vibed well with everyone.

Two stars because the service was good. However, it was gross. The smell of the restaurant on the inside is mildewy, which we overlooked because sometimes that’s just how older buildings smell. Unfortunately, we should have taken it as a sign to just leave.
Have you ever gotten sushi from the grocery store, and it’s just okay? Not delicious, but will do the trick. Well, after eating here, we found ourselves wishing we had just picked up a few rolls from the store. It would have been better and far cheaper.
Long story short, it was gross. The rice was clearly old, and the spicy tuna tasted like cheap canned stuff. Each bite got worse and worse. The karaage wasn’t really karaage as it didn’t seem to have any breading/coating. The edamame in chili oil was the only good thing we got.
I’m surprised this place has such a high rating. Maybe we came on an off night, but frankly any place that can serve food as poor quality as this isn’t worth the stop. We won’t be back.

Sushi Ari is my fiancé’s and my favorite restaurant. We’ve been to many sushi places, both locally and internationally, and this has earned a spot in our hearts. From the authentic sushi house atmosphere to the fresh and perfectly prepared dishes, this is a gem of a restaurant.
Codie, our server is an absolute delight. We are regulars and she knows us on sight. She’s got a smile for everyone and is one of the most talented and professional servers I’ve ever encountered. We always feel welcomed at Sushi Ari.
As for the food, everything we’ve had here has been exceptional. Our favorites are the Ari Roll, and the yakisoba. I also have enjoyed their ramen from time to time.
This is a place I can easily recommend to everyone I know.
