We stopped by today for breakfast. The only option was a breakfast buffet for $25….perfect. We were a party of 5 and they asked if they could put us at a table for 4 so we could have a nice view, we thought sure that would be lovely. We got seated in the porch area and asked if we could sit next to the window but were told “I’d have to re set that table since it’s set for dinner” so that’s when I realized we got squished 5 into a table for 4 so they wouldn’t have to reset tables again for dinner. Apparently breakfast customers get paper napkins not cloth. We then headed up to the buffet where there was about 1 serving left of everything at the buffet. We were told they were coming with refills….15-20 minutes later they finally refilled their buffet. For a basic breakfast buffet it was not worth $25 and the service didn’t help.

The half roasted chicken was about the size of a Cornish game hen. So small! And the mashed potatoes (which were not hot) was the size of an ice cream scoop. Maybe 5 measly, skinny asparagus spears. I'm finished and I'm still hungry!
The prices are high. My puny chicken plate cost $34! Plus tax and tip. So not worth it.
There was only one person serving all the tables and being the host.
I won't come here again and I don't recommend!

Absolutely loved this restaurant!!! Food was absolutely amazing. We were bummed because we wanted to try their chocolate lava cake sooo badly but didn’t save any room for dessert because of how good the food was!

It’s ok, but it’s overpriced. They do not have enough staff and the folks working are overburdened.

Never did get to eat. Waited for about 5 minutes to be seared while several staff looked at us, but no acknowledgement. I proceeded to walk in as a sign on the counter also said to check in at the bar. The hostess did not greet us, and seemed bothered we were there. There were about 5 different people eating through out the entire resteraunt. The hostess proceeded to try to sit us in the middle of two tables with other patrons and continued to seem bothered by our presence. We never did sit down, but left.

This evening was intended to be the highlight of our weekend reunion and we were looking forward to our dinner in the lodge.
Our reservation was at 6pm and we were seated in the oldest room in the lodge. At 6:20 we still had not had any service and asked if we could move to the room with the lake view as there were empty tables there.
The floor manager responded she would check into it.
Immediately thereafter, our server Miranda appeared at our table. She started by telling us she had 5 tables in the other room, and a party of 5 could not be accommodated, no exceptions! She then proceeded to tell one of us to move her legs under the table, it was actually quite bizarre. There were no other customers in the room we were in.
This behavior and aggressive response impacted our entire group.
We are a group of five nurses and appreciate how hard people in the service industry work. Having said that, we also know how important it is to treat people with dignity and respect no matter how busy you are. The negative impact of one person can impact the reputation of the entire organization.
It shocked us all to be treated with such disrespect and unfortunately negativity impacted how we enjoyed the intended highlight of our weekend.
We hope this helps for future visitors.

The lodge is somewhat isolated and this is probably your best bet for food.
It's not world class cuisine but certainly will suffice for both kids and adults. Service is very attentive and professional. Both indoor and outdoor seating available, with great view of the lake. Should make reservations for dinner.
Of note, this is our 4th time here and we do notice some reduced food quality, probably a sign of the struggles of the national parks and the lodges

Expected menu dining and instead got sausage and hamburger buffet for $90 for two. Will not go back and do not recommend.

Food and service were good, although food is a bit overpriced. But the view is what you are paying for.

Duck, Cesar Salad (although it needed anchovies), steamed clams good. Better wine offerings needed than grocery story selection on menu.
Also table for 4 opposite window with broken blind was oppressively warm and sunny after about 7:30pm. This table should not be used till the blind is repaired.

Had grilled chicken sandwich, salmon BLT and the green salad with chicken. All were the best entrees we’ve had in the Olympic National Park and coast.

Our server was awesome, and the food was amazing. This felt like a fine dining experience. The clams, bread, pot roast and gnocchi were all great. The atmosphere is cozy with great views of the lake. Such a great experience!

Above all else, the hostess and waiters are polite, attentive, and “happy to serve”, as I like the to call it. We’d made a dinner reservation, gotten there at early, and they happily seated us anyway. 5 stars for the staff.
Atmosphere was elegant, and view from our table was nice. We’ve enjoyed seeing the lodge in our shows, and to be there in person was quite the joy for the family. 5 stars, for quality of property and dining atmosphere.
Now, for the food. It’s not that it was bad, but for such a fancy (and expensive!) restaurant, I was a little underwhelmed. I’ll start with what was good though! The Pot-Roast was good, and both the mixed greens and Caesar salads were excellent. I’ve never been much of a salad person, but my recommendations for this place would be their salads. Now, the gnocchi was fine, nothing particularly bad about it. Just know, going in, it’s heavy, and the cheese taste can be overpowering. That can arguably be said for any gnocchi though Lol!
Now, for my least favorite part of the meal…The Gumbo. I’m sorry, it simply was not gumbo. I’ve lived down South all my life, and become a gumbo/jambalaya connoisseur of the sorts. I absolutely love gumbo, but this? This is soup. Stew maybe. For starters, it only came with chicken, which is only 1/3 of the meats you’d usually find. Sausage and shrimp are a must for gumbo. Seattle is a costal state, come on now! Secondly, I think it tasted a little more like chili rather than gumbo. Definitely a difference between the two, and not defining it in the north is a cultural culinary crime! 😂 But yeah, for the price, I highly recommend you try to serve actual gumbo. The internet is your best friend if you need a real recipe. Otherwise, you’ll disappoint a handful of other southerners looking for a homey meal.
All in all, 4/5 stars overall. Excellent staff, quality service, and tasty food, other than that gumbo! Love this hotel! ❤️🙏
