My favorite part of the work day is lunch. Who would have guessed? I love coming across new spots on Yelp and dragging my coworkers to check them out with me. This new spot was a four minute drive from campus, which gave us enough time to eat AND pick up boba on the way back! Lots of unique dishes here; simple, but they pack a punch of flavor!
Minced Beef with Green Pepper Noodle
The only reason I'm not giving them five stars is because they didn't have enough non-pork dishes for me and their scallion pancakes didn't have any visible scallions in them. A more fleshed out dessert menu, and I'm theirs!
Not sure how it got average of 4.5 stars, but did not care for the food, nor the ambience. Service was the only area that was reasonable

Their malatang combo (xiangla) is amazing and is very generous in serving size. Best soup stock for hotpot I've had. Only available for lunch though.

The food was all right. Despite the greasiness of the maocai and the small portion for its price, the flavor was okay, and we didn’t get sick. What I really disliked was the fact that they made you scan a bar code and order on your phone, but would not let you pay on the same app when you were ready to leave. Instead a waitress had to take our payment, and I had to choose a tip while being stared at intensely by her. This made me feel uncomfortable. I will not go to a place like this a second time, where I get intimidated into tipping for services that are half-missing.

The value for what you get is not very good, there was small amount of meat on the chicken noodle dish that I got. Maybe if you get a beef noodle they will give more, not sure. Flavor was ok. We also got cold noodle which was better taste. The noodles are tasteless, I recommend Biang Biang if you want good tasting noodles
Also there are no vegetables or egg in the noodle by default, it is just the meat and noodle. maybe some cabbage or something would be nice to add.
For dine-in, ordering is done through a QR code at the table, and the system requires you to enter your full name, phone number, and email just to place an order. That is excessive! Unfortunately, the food didn’t meet expectations either; it tasted low quality and seemed to be made with inexpensive ingredients.
