Perhaps I should try something different but the noodle soup was okay. The soup base lacked the depth. I ordered the clear broth noodle soup with added hot oils. The noodle texture was good but the soups base was so basic. My coworker ordered the spicy beef noodle and it had a very strong oriental medicine flavor which wasn’t bad at all. Regardless I cannot give more than 3 stars based on what I had. I will come back to try something fancy later and might update the rating....
The Maocai here is incredibly authentic. I ordered the least spicy option, but it was still quite spicy and had that signature numbing sensation—definitely a bit more than I could handle. If you enjoy bold, authentic flavors, this place won’t disappoint. Just be cautious with the spice level—even the mildest option packs a serious punch!

Also there are no vegetables or egg in the noodle by default, it is just the meat and noodle. maybe some cabbage or something would be nice...
