$18.99 gets you a handful of bony chicken wing pieces mixed with french fries (why?)"Dry pot chicken" without all the red pepper is barely an appetizer size."Sichuan Hot Thin Sliced Pork Ear" was overly salted, impossible to eat.Such a rip-off for bad food, never again.

Rounding up this review to a full 5 stars because their staff is so friendly and helpful on top of the solid dishes served here. We ordered 3 dishes and found that each rivaled our favorite Sichuan restaurant back in CA. Fish Fillet in Rattan Pepper Broth - big tender chunks of fish served in a flavorful broth of numbing spice Crispy Hot & Spicy Fish Fillet - delicately breaded fish with peppers Chongqing Chicken with Chili Pepper (Boneless) - breaded and fried chunks of chicken on a bed of hot red peppers We are delighted to find a new go-to place for Sichuan food so conveniently located!

I decided to order togo via ubereats because I am easily intimidated by calling in my order when there isn't really an easy online menu. Although I figured from who I saw when picking up that if everyone else is Chinese, it's a good sign. Chongqing Chicken with Chili Pepper: This dish is almost completely pepper with chicken that's mostly bones. It tastes great but its a bit annoying and honestly felt a bit excessive to me for how much I paid. If there is a way to get this boneless, I would do that else I would stick to ordering this somewhere else. Sauteed Spicy Beef with Fresh peppers and cilantro: This was likely my least favorite of them all. It's not bad and fairly solid of a dish but compared to the other two I just wasn't in love. Sauteed string beans: I adore string beans at Chinese restaurants and this hit the spot. It was exactly what I was looking for. It's not overly spicy (especially compared to the other two dishes I ordered) and just hit the spot. Although perhaps slightly salty if you're not eating it with rice. I'll probably go back again when I just want to quickly have some Chinese food for dinner!

Order fried rice, pig ear and Chongqing chicken for take out, overall pretty tasty, fried rice was a bit salty but my kids loved it. The Chongqing chicken had too little chicken compared to some of the other places I ordered from.. I had literally 75% just red peppers lol it was not satisfying for the price of the dish.

We've ordered food from here several times for pick up. The food is good and the people behind the counter are nice with the exception of the lady there. She refused to give me the order my wife had made despite giving her phone number and name - which is what they ALWAYS accept. She wanted the order number and because ATT decided to switch service to my new iPhone 14 sitting at home, I had to drive all the way home and then figure out the order number. Came back, took the order and on the freaking order sheet attached to the order was the number and name I had given her for pick up. Very rude and uncooperative person. We will never tip if we ever order from here again. If we could rescind the tip on the last take out order we would. The food sat out for another half an hour while I drove back and forth. Very irritated.

Eastside is known for some solid Szechuan restaurants, and Spicy City was recommended as a place to try for this particular cuisine! We went on a Friday around 6pm and were seated promptly. The service at this restaurant is pretty similar to various other authentic Chinese restaurants in the area - with the menu being a order online through their digital menu, scanned via a QR code at the table - We received our food in about 10ish minutes after ordering. We ordered a variety of dishes, which I'll review down below: Spicy Boiled Beef: This was pretty tasty dish! The beef slices were tender and the bean sprouts and both soaked up the chili sauce well. You could definitely taste the spices and intricate flavor from the chili oil, and even feel them (e.g. Szechuan peppercorn was really numbing!). I personally enjoyed the spice level (moderately spicy) of this dish here at Spicy City, though some people may prefer a higher spice level. Seafood Tofu Stir-fry: There are many components of this dish that I liked, but I loved the fish, tofu, and woodear mushroom the most - I really enjoyed the tofu in this dish, it was really soft and basically melted in your mouth! The fish was also really soft and you had to be careful when transferring them to your plate. The woodear was basically a sponge that soaked up the scrumptious stirfry sauce, which was mostly a flavor of garlic and hints of the ingredients in this dish. I would say this was my favorite of everything we ordered. Spicy Pepper Fried Chicken: This was a really flavorful dish with the smack of spice and crunch with every nugget of chicken. I guess the only gripe that I usually have with this dish at most places is that I do wish there was a bit more chicken, but this is usually one of many must try dishes for me to gauge the flavor that a Szechuan restaurant is capable of. Mouth Watering Chicken: A pretty tasty appetizer that gives great texture! The garnish of sesame seeds on top and the tiny rinds of dried chili peppers give a slightly crunchy and chewy texture, and the chili oil sauce that the chickens are soaked in were yummy. A downside that I feel with this dish is that there was a lot more bone than I expected and not enough meat, as like 60% of the dish was chicken bone. Overall, I spent about $31 for this quantity of food you see here (split between three people) - I would say that Spicy City has great flavor, but is on the pricier side in terms of Szechuan food. There are plenty Szechuan places in the Eastside and Spicy City is definitely a solid option, I would revisit sometime in the future to try the other options on the menu.

First time I have tried this place. I was quite surprised and disappointed that they don't offer a lunch combo menu. It's all alacart at dinner prices. When they told me they did not then I understood why the dining area was next to empty at peak of lunch. I ordered the Sautéed Spicy Beef w/fresh Peppers and Cilantro plus an order of rice. The dish taste was overpowered by the cilantro and I was surprised there was no ajus with the dish to give it more flavor. $19 + tax and I included a $3 tip so about $25 not well spent. Should have gone to Panda at QFC

Good and authentic spicy food and the quality is very consistent. Have ordered over a dozen times and have never been disappointed. Their meal prep time has been pretty fast too, for 2-3 dishes, it's usually around 10-15mins, depending on when you place the order. The best part is the portion is large enough for two of us to enjoy over two meals.

Ordered two dishes to go, both were disappointing! We requested the sautéed Chinese cabbage to be non-spicy but came home with tons of chili peppers on it. The sautéed pork with sweet bean sauce tasted like sautéed pork with soy sauce!! The pork you can actually tasted the starch in your mouth. We ordered the same dishes plus several other dishes two weeks ago, that dish should came with wood ear mushroom and bamboo shoots but today we only got only onions! We couldn’t even tasted any sweet paste sauce! Their quality has not been consistent lately and tonight is just a big bummer that we don’t think we will be back any time soon.

Incredibly authentic place, by our standards. We came here by ourselves earlier and realized we had no idea what to order. Next time we came with Chinese friend and they ordered. Lived up to it's spicy name. Very tasty and different from usual Chinese American restaurants you find around.

To be honest I don't really see the appeal. People have talked up this place and I finally tried it to my disappointment. I love spicy food... maybe it was my order choice this time? I went with Chongqing Chili Chicken which I assumed was popular, Mongolian beef, and fried rice. It was spicy but didn't really feel any depth to the spice. Both dishes kind of tasted like whatever hot oil they use and chili pepper. I also tried a plum juice thinking it was just juice and either I just don't like plum juice, I got the wrong thing, or it was mixed with some tea. Idk maybe I'll try a different order down the road.

Delicious, authentic Sichuan food. Get the mapo tofu, popcorn chicken (boneless), and raindrop jelly for dessert.

This place was delicious. If you want a bit of spice in your life and love Chinese food this is a great Redmond lunch or dinner.
