They have the best & freshest Italian food around! You will not be disappointed! Can’t wait to go back!
We were walking around Redmond after checking into our hotel. We were looking to have a cocktail and a light snack. We saw the exterior of Zio Sal and ventured into a very cozy and welcoming venue. We took seats at the bar so we could watch the Mariner Game on the flat screen. We were welcomed/ greeted by Aaron and perused the wine list and menu. EVERYTHING looked delicious, but we settled on a chop salad, foccacia and a pizza. I ordered a lovely glass of Pinot Grigio and my date a glass of Mac n Jack's. There were a few other patrons in the restaurant and 1 other diner at the bar eating a yummy looking portion of lasagne. We visited around 830 ish, and the city center was rather quiet so we were certainly grateful this venue was open. Our food was served efficiently and beautifully. Our waiter/hospitality associate was professional and did checkbacks keeping our beverages full. We met some lovely people associated with the restaurant...Sal & Julia and spent the next hour sharing stories of historic Epicurean dining days in the Seattle area. Days of Daniel's Broiler, Henry's off Broadway, Triples, the Latitude and Hirams at the Locks. Days when service was stellar, folks dressed for dinner and Beef Wellington was a real treat. People knew what a seafood fork was for and waiters crumbed tables between courses. A truly delightful Era for sure! We finished our meal, parted with our newly found friends and relished in what a wonderful treat we had in simply walking into this gem in Redmond. Zio Sal's is definitely worth the visit! Thank you for a lovely evening!

Very less portion size. We felt rushed.

Great food, good vibes, prompt service, lovely outdoor seating, a nice wine list, good cocktails, and it's owned by an actual Italian. Frankly, I'm surprised it's not busier right now. Get your next latte here instead of Starbucks - better value for your money, and you won't wait as long.

I stopped for a solo dinner on a weekday and it was wonderful. My server was very attentive, my second choice of wine was better (Pinot Gris over Cabernet Sauvignon) and both my choices of pasta (pesto and carbonara) were great

We booked a table here for a friend’s birthday, and we’re excited to try it for the first time. It was a warm day, probably pushing 90. We were surprised upon arrival to find the doors propped open and a very warm temperature inside the restaurant. We sat down and had some water, and asked the waiter (also the owner it seemed) about the air conditioning. He said it’s been broken for a long time. We made the difficult decision to leave without eating. It was simply too hot to enjoy a meal in that environment. Perhaps we will try them again when the weather is more mild.

Great food, service and atmosphere. Reminded us of restaurants in Florence. Loved sitting on the patio watching the world go by. Authentic Italian food. Wonderful flavors. Appreciated the family atmosphere. Food was so good the first night, we came back the next night with other family members. Highly recommend.

Expensive, Basic food
Salad was just few leaves of lettuce with some cheese. Felt like a rip off for $20.
Pizza was very bland and I have eaten better pizzas for $5.
Ravioli was decent and it wasn't the best, but good.
They don't even serve starter bread or anything. The Italian is name only. Nothing like actual Italian. Just very basic food.
The atmosphere is nice, and the staff were friendly. But that still doesn't justify the price. The restaurant is at best above average looking and nowhere close to the upscale restaurant prices they charge.
I have been to many Italian places, and this is not the worst, but definitely below average.

First time at Zio Sal Ristorante the other night and will definitely be back! Ate outside on the patio, and Gabriel took excellent care of us. The cocktails were delicious and paired beautifully with the prosciutto e melone. Had the spiedini di carne and loved it. Wished I'd had a bigger appetite so I could have tried a pasta course (which is why I'll be back in the near future). Couldn't leave without having dessert - the tiramisu - which they make in-house. Exceptional! All in all a delightful experience - highly recommend - you won't regret it!

ordered delivery, first order was wrong. we received 2 pesto pastas that were dry and bland instead of a pizza and a sausage dish. we re-ordered and my meal was still wrong, I ordered the sausage with cannellini beans and a sage sauce and got the sausage with just mixed veggies. portion of meat was okay but portions of veggies & potatoes were weak and under seasoned. will not bother with this place again.

There was practically no wait for a table when I went. I went during happy hour to try and pizza and tiramisu. Both were great and I will definitely be coming back for more. My waiter was also very friendly and took great care of me.
