I spent some years working for jacks bbq in Seattle. I've been to Austin and surrounding areas and to say I've eaten a lot if bbq is putting it lightly. I like double barrel a lot. Was some of the better bbq I've had in a minute. Brisket was great, ribs were on point, chicken was moist and flavorful. I live up in bham and I will definitely be making the drive for more bbq in the future.

This was some of the most melt in your mouth brisket we have ever had! We didn’t need bbq sauce on anything at all! The bbq, the Mac and cheese, the fried okra blew us away. Seriously everything was so good!! Going back very soon to try more on the menu! Coming back for nanas pecan pie !

After playing disc golf at NSRA there ain't nuthin like a mess of BBQ to feed the stoke. The fabled Wooly Mammoth--a frozen slushee of Coke with or without booze--will give you a brain freeze that is sure to please. It's not cheap, but we all know meat is too. Just go for a pulled pork or brisket sandwich and you will be plenty full.

It was a very pleasant surprise. Was driving up I5 and was hungry. Took the Sedro-Woolley exit and googled restaurants. Chose Double Barrel because I love BBQ. The ribs were great as was the coleslaw. Will definitely return!

Update: I was able to explain my side of the story to Nancy, who was more than understanding and wonderful to communicate with. This business really is a crown jewel of the community, and I don't mean that lightly. I can tell that Nancy and Jim really care for folks. Plus, they have great food, too! I've eaten there a couple of times and loved it. Go see 'em!

They had a honkey tonk type guitar player/singer when i arrived here. I had to take a seat at the bar because the place was already packed. And for good reason! I ordered the 2 meat meal combo for $24.99. The brisket melted in my mouth and fell off my fork. The ribs were so amazing! I think they also make their own mashed potatoes and baked beans. A staffmember told me that thet slow cook their brisket and ribs overnight. In short... this is simply an amazing barbecue experience. I will be returning.

Very disappointing experience... drinks forgotten, undercooked food that never got corrected or money returned, small portioned sides. Vegetables were dry. Meat was dry. Payed before the experience and could not get any sort of return. A single person working a register to take drinks and food orders and allowing a line to build up along the other people in the restaurant is crazy. Over priced for what I got. Felt nothing like the south I was born and raised in. Hire some waiters/waitresses and extra staff. Have some sort of customer service and quality control. Especially on a Saturday night. Girlfriend asked if something was dairy free and the response she got was it doesn't have gluten??? Maybe a little training on allergens would help too. One young man cleaning up after everyone and attempting to address everyone's issues is not right. He was doing the best he could in an unfunctional system. Props to him. I can see this place being an amazing establishment with some improvements. I hope it was just a bad or busy night. Not from the area so won't be able to be back but hoping the best for positive change!

Doubel Barrel is hands down my favorite BBQ spot in Whatcom and Skagit Counties. Their food is always delicious and the service is fantastic. I also love the quirky atmosphere in their restaurant. We recently hired them for a work event and they were timely, the food was fantastic and Charlotte our caterer was wonderful. If I could give them 10 stars I would!!
Went here for father's day buffet 🙌 amazing bbq food the egg salad was excellent. My favorite was the ribs so much flavor. Worth trying if you are in the area. Also the apple pie moonshine was delicious. Mac and cheese is a must!

The food was really delicious! Very smokey flavor. The brisket was super tender, juicy, and full of flavor. They even have a huge barrel of peanuts with a scoop and trays that you can serve yourself while you wait for your food. And it's a throw the shells on the floor rustic kind of place. Very nice atmosphere.
