Alder Wood Bistro and Wood-Fired Pizza

As former Sequim vacationers and now residents, we’ve repeatedly taken our guests to dinner at Alder Wood Bistro. We know we can count on fantastic food and stellar service. Last night was no exception. Allison was very knowledgeable and accommodating. Each of us ordered from the special menu: the steak, the pasta, and cedar plank cod. All delicious. I had the steak and it was so good, I was almost in tears!

We sat in the garden tent. I was worried we would be a little chilly, but they had blankets on every chair! They also had a few heaters scattered around the area. The atmosphere was perfect! The service we received was top notch and very friendly. We had a pizza, and it was delicious! They had a great menu. Highly recommend!

NOT dog friendly. Made a reservation for the patio telling them we had a non-service dog. Got there and were told we couldn't be seated because he isn't a service animal.

One of the best places to eat in Sequim. Simple setting with a pretty standard menu, but the staff and the kitchen elevate it to a level hard to find in the area. It’s a go to place for a nice relaxed evening knowing that no matter what you order it will be excellent. Ingredients are fresher and of higher quality, from a simple pizza to a signature dish.

What an amazing gem of a spot!
Everything about Alderwood exceeded expectations, from the smart and knowledgeable staff to every bite of the delicious food….excellent in every way.
Calamari… so tender, crisp and with great aioli, better than any we’ve had in Italy or Spain.
Perfectly done plank salmon and a steak frites that was magazine worthy!
It is not often these days to find a spot where such attention to detail is paramount and they were full! … every table taken on a Wednesday night and yet still, they had time for a question or quick chat!

Delicious meal with a sumptuous root vegetable fritter, grilled asparagus with a chef’s seasoned butter and Sicilian pizza. Highly recommend this restaurant. Friendly service, nice variety of dishes all well prepared. I would happily come back in the area.

I wanted to love this place with the impressive menu and unique options but the service was not even fair. I made reservations for the Heated patio and they didn't have the heat on. It was extremely cold. They have blankets that they just refold and pass from one seating to the next. The fries look good but we're cold when they arrived. The chili is very good and so are the oven roasted vegetables and vegetable entree but know that they leave stems and roots on a lot of the vegetables. The place looks fairly clean, but the service was very slow. We were there quite a while. It is a nice location with a fair amount of parking. Don't book an outside table unless you like the cold.

A pleasant surprise! Tasty food, great service, relaxing atmosphere, fair prices. Many, many gluten free options. Highly recommend.

My husband and I were in the area and decided to grab a later dinner. We were really impressed with the restaurant. The friendliness of the staff was welcoming and the pizza was incredibly delicious with local fresh ingredients and I am very picky since I spend a fair amount of time in Italy! There are many choices for all dietary preferences. I loved the pizza dough that is made from sourdough starter.

Dietary restrictions: They have labels on the menu for Gluten Free, Vegetarian, vegan, and more, more than only Pizza.

Kid-friendliness: The restaurant is family friendly.

This is a very cozy space, with a homey atmosphere that is very warm and inviting. The service was excellent, we were sat with no reservation on an evening when there was only one table left. So we felt quite lucky. The food was hands down amazing. We did somewhat of a wild mushroom extravaganza, and not a single dish disappointed. We even bought a pizza to go we were so impressed. The carrot cake and the cheesecake were so good, not too sweet but still very flavorful and delicious. Overall it was a 10/10 experience. The next time we’re around the Olympic National Park we’ll make sure to reserve a table so we can ensure we have a fantastic meal.

Parking: There is limited parking in front of the restaurant but plenty of street parking and a parking lot just to the left of the front of the restaurant.
