This was my second time at Essence and both times were exactly the same, wonderful! The staff is friendly and patient when you are fumbling over what to order. They can answer your questions about their menu and know about the coffee they serve. The flavor of the coffee is lovely. I'll be trying different items on the board to taste them all. They also serve some tasty sounding specials that I'd love to give a shot.

I am visiting Washington from Indiana, we stopped at this coffee shop with some friends. It is so pretty inside, very clean & classic. However, the reason why I’m writing a review, my mocha coffee might be the best cup of coffee I’ve ever had! I’ve been to so many coffee shops all around the US, but never had a coffee like the one I had here! My mocha was sooo smooth, blended perfectly, not a hint of bitterness, I’m honestly so sad I can’t come back everyday to get it. The workers were also very kind! 10/10 recommend, if I ever come back to Washington I’m stopping here!

I was here, with my brother 2 years ago, I currently live in the Portland Metro and have to say this is the best Coffee I have had anywhere in the country outside of Bend, Oregon. Bend had some great coffee shops and the blend they made for my bro and I were super. (This was around 2 years ago and I don't know if the original owners still own it or have moved on either) The coffee had texture, it was full bodied, it did not have an after taste, and it was smooth. This place is not like the cheesy Starbucks with all those over sugared drinks this is the real deal, or so it was when we were there in 2022. - The couple at the counter were very accommodating and it was a good experience, what can I say. - I prefer the Coffee shops that remind me of Europe, the ambiance, the quality, the visual effects........very nice. We will be there next week, I am hoping it is still the same.

Excellent Colombian coffee. Roasted fresh to perfection - weekly I’d guess (I’m a home roaster). Ambiance could be a bit more “cozy “ and music volume down a bit - but I didn’t ask either. But the coffee is spot on! Nice cremma and flavor.
