Lovely staff, hearty breakfast & excellent coffee! Perfect.
Cute decor and cozy space. They have a good breakfast menu and burgers. However, the last time I tried chicken strips, it was dry and not well-seasoning. I was disappointed for the food a bit because this is my partners favorite spot for brunch. Soup tastes amazing!
Just okay. Hashbrowns weren’t very crispy, omelet was more like a scramble. Had to ask for water and sour cream twice. But pancakes, eggs, and bacon were all cooked nicely and tasted good. I liked that they had real cream on the table, not the little packaged kind. Enjoyed the cozy diner vibe. It was a little too warm with not much airflow.
Really cozy with a cool counter/ bar. Staff are wonderful and warm. Food is good comfort food reasonably priced. They have great bloody mary potions and an extensive liquor selection.
It’s a gem to me. Food is excellent, service is good and the atmosphere is comfy!
You should be responsible enough to change your hours on Google if you're not going to be open for Mother's Day! Thanks for the wasted drive from Ballard! I briefly saw that there was a reply from Floanna about my Disappointment but it didn't appear to be coming from a place of humility. As the old saying goes, the customer is always right. Look, your food is good! It's a nice place to eat for brunch! If you get to a place where you can understand why customers depend on Google information and expect it to be appropriately amended properly, I'd be glad to give you a great review next time we visit, if we're welcome. Update I did see a better reply but you were wrong about the amended hours when we looked that afternoon. I just saw a Green Open. Either way, we'll come around again sometime soon and I'd be glad to share a better review, especially of the food! And thanks for the more humble reply! Your food is certainly not worth sweating the Small Stuff! 😁
See you soon!❤️
Despite all the indoctrination from the cereal industry, I usually don’t eat breakfast. A cup of coffee is fine for starting the day, then I get an early lunch and all is well. Occasionally, hunger or a hankering for breakfast food makes me change up my pattern. The other day, I was on my way home after a lovely night out and I felt the need for eggs. I checked in with Google, who showed that FloAnna’s was close to my route home. I wondered for a bit because I had been there years ago and had a vague memory of not liking it. My wondering included the thought that the last time might have just been a bad day. Or, they may have changed. Or, I had ordered something they were not good at. In any case, I settled on giving them another chance.
The place is on Lake City Way, but Google had a trick to get into the parking lot from the rear that avoided having to cross traffic for the left turn. There was a big parking lot that was full of signs that said no parking. I looked around a bit and found a way to get into the parking lot that was clearly part of the restaurant. There was only one spot left. I snagged it and went in.
The menu says that FloAnna’s was founded in 1993. The 30 years of wear and tear shows. Everything looks a little run down. I was led to a four top that had 4 different coffee cups. I flipped one up and it was quickly filled with coffee. Not great coffee, but good enough for a diner.
The menu included all the usuals - eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, etc... If you have seen my other breakfast reviews, you will not be surprised that I went for the chicken fried steak and eggs. My waitress fired questions at me to determine that I wanted sausage gravy, poached eggs and wheat toast. Another waitress topped off my coffee and I did a little reading. I did not get too far in my reading when the food showed up. The hashbrowns looked good. The toast was just right. The rest of the meal had flaws. The poached eggs were way over done and the steak was drowned in gravy. The solid eggs were as expected. I added lots of salt and pepper. The gravy was just wrong. I suspect it was burned at some point.
The coffee waitress kept my cup filled and my waitress made sure I got the bill long before I was done. Otherwise I was ignored. I finished my food and picked up the bill. Restaurants are expensive these days, so this bill was not unexpected. I put my card on the table and got plenty of reading done while I waited for it to be picked up, processed and returned. The pen they gave me for tipping and signing was dry. I scratched the info on the check and left it to them to figure it out. I don’t think I was give them a third try.

This had been one of our spots for the past few weeks - wasn't anything fabulous but was affordable and the service is fine.
But today, the food was horrible. I know I should have said something to the staff, but I just can't bring myself to say it to their faces. The sausage links tasted like mildew, I spit out my one bite into my napkin. The hash browns are too dry and the brown bits are rock hard. Perhaps worst of all, the sausage gravy comes out of a giant can from Cash & Carry. We used to sell the same biscuits and gravy at my gas station.
Truly unfortunate. I don't remember the biscuits and gravy being that bad, and I've ordered it there multiple times. Don't know why they're going backwards, but we won't be going back there anymore.
I especially don't appreciate management responding to my review with what appears to be argument. My plate was not clear, I spit out my sausage links after one bite onto another small plate, the main plate still had a whole biscuit on it and half of the hash browns and eggs.
Plus they are outright lying. They are not using the "freshest ingredients," that gravy is from a huge can and it's disgusting. Absolutely gross that they would respond to a poor review like this instead of apologizing and trying to make it right.

I waited forever to be acknowledged and seated, so they must be short staffed. Once I was seated, I was served coffee/water immediately, that was nice, but then I waited AGAIN for
someone to take my order. Food arrived, looks and tastes great. Server never came back, never asked if I needed anything, never brought the check. Had to walk up to the register to pay

Nice music, very friendly staff, decious food (we had the Western Omelette (hash browns included) and French Toast with strawberries and whipped cream. Nice selection of hot sauces. Orang juice could have been a bit colder but that’s a minor quibble. Cinnamon roll is pre-made and pre-packaged commercially, not made in-house. (We brought one home)
