Note: Lunch buffet review only - from a Lynnwood born Gringo.

Not what I expected. Was mostly stew items. No chips and salsa. No cheese. No sour cream. Asked for them and got charged $5 for little amount of each. Limited buffet choices, all soupy or watery stuff with meat and vegetables in it. The refried beans were runny not thick. The rice was white with little color and nothing added like Spanish rice does. The tortillas were small and a mushy texture. The items on the buffet are evidently called guisados which is not said on the outdoor buffet sign and I have never heard of, meaning stew like. Nothing made up to have like burritos, chimichangas or flautas etc. as I thought a Mexican food buffet would have.. Nothing here I really cared for and I love normal Mexican food. The bill was $28.69 and I only had water and I was by myself. Came to over $30 with a $2 tip. And beware, they have a King County food service rating of "ok" which is concerning..... I have been excited to try the Mexican buffet since I saw the sign a week ago, but I thought it would have normal Mexican style food, not guisados. To me, just not worth the price and you only get mostly stew items. Again, my bad. I thought it was a different kind of food I've had 100's of times before and seemed expensive.

Since moving here from Los Angeles three years ago, we have tried dozens of Mexican restaurants trying to find something remotely close to authentic (or even edible...seriously, what's with the weird ketchupy red sauce every place insists on putting on their chicken? Why are all burritos served soggy?) This place is hands down the best weve found. We had chicken enchiladas and carne asada. Both were fantastic. The prices were completely reasonable (have other reviewers just not eaten at a restaurant in the last five years?) Homemade tortillas were a standout. The only thing I'd change is serving the queso fundido in a cast iron plate so it stayed meltier a little longer. Definitely not a big deal--it was still delicious. We'll definitely be back.

Parking: Large lot and street parking

Kid-friendliness: Lots of families dining there.

I would rate the whole experience here as a 2.5. Service was pretty terrible - no one was rude but very inattentive. The atmosphere was also bad - smoke filled the restaurant from the kitchen but only after we ordered so it was a bit late to leave. The booth bench seats were also broken so that was uncomfortable. Finally the food, a solid 2.5 because it was very mediocre. But overall the restaurant gets a 2 because it was so mediocre AND overpriced. There is much better Mexican food at plaza Garcia - similar price but better quality and bigger portions or downtown - again similar price but way better quality.

Food was excellent, but the enchiladas had a small portion size. The background music was a bit loud, but the staff was friendly and helpful. It's also quite cold in there - almost everyone was wearing a coat. Food is very authentic, so if you're expecting Mexican-American food, you will be disappointed.

I tried the aguachile and the seafood volcano, the aguachile lacked spice, it didn't have any chili 🌶 Now with the seafood sauces, salt, and pepper, it had a good flavor but nothing spicy. They should ask how spicy they want it. I know that many can't stand the spice too much but there are levels. The aguachile and the seafood volcano had white onion. Add red onion to the seafood. It's like putting red onion in birria tacos instead of white. It changes the flavor a lot, try it and you will see the difference. I'm just being judgmental because they say it's AUTHENTIC Mexican food. I recommend that you grab seafood black sauce, very good. To make it more authentic. We also tried the hibiscus water and the guacamole and we really liked it. The service is very good, the guy is very attentive. I would return to try other dishes that I craved.

I asked for a cheese enchilada and received a quesadilla. I had to reorder the enchilada. This wasn't the problem, though. The problem was she blamed me for ordering incorrectly, which I did not, I never order quesadillas because I don't go out to eat quesadillas I can make them at home! 😅. Then she said that they make the chile rellenos with queso fresco but brought me one with jack cheese! (I asked her before ordering the chile relleno because I wanted to make sure it was the cheese I like, I would have ordering something else on the menú if she had told me the truth. Flavor wise, it's not the best for chile relleno, but the sauce for the Enchilada was good even though it was practically just tortilla and maybe a bit of cheese.Anyhow, I'm never going back to this place.

This is the first bad review I have ever left for a restaurant. It was probably one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve had in a while. As we were being seated before getting any menus the server asked if we wanted chips and guac, so assuming they were free for the table, we said yes. Turns out they were $10 for a tiny ice cream scoop of guac. Then I ordered the “Birria tacos” and my boyfriend ordered the chicken nachos. Worst so called Birria tacos I’ve had. They were more like flavorless beef tacos. There was no cheese, no seasoning, the tortillas weren’t dipped and cooked with the soup and the so called “soup” that comes with it was just straight flavorless oil with a few pieces of beef in it. Also my boyfriend’s nachos were very flavorless as well except for the chicken. The only things that were truly tasty were the margs that we got. Then when we asked for the check our server asked why and that we should stay longer to hang out after we said no to another round of drinks. Then, he took forever to bring us the check when there was only one other table and he passed by several times while we were waiting and would be starring at us even from across the restaurant. It was just a very weird and unpleasant experience overall and we have no intention of going back. I used to be a server and that was not proper etiquette for one in my opinion.

Worst Mexican I’ve ever had. Worst drinks I’ve possibly ever had. And terrible service.

I live close to Las Brasas and had been meaning to try it for some time. I stopped one day to finish some work and had Happy Hour drinks and food. The service is amazing, my Happy Hour Margarita was HUGE, fresh, and made with real limes and oranges. The food is authentic, well priced, and delicious. I was early so I was able to talk to the staff and I loved connecting with them. They were kind and chatted with me, since I was alone.

Portion size is small!! I ordered Carne Azada and it was just that, the meat! No rice, no beans even small salad to accompany- husband got pozole which was also small plate! At most mexican restaurants the give u chips ans salsa- well this place dont- so we ordered appetizer and eve told the waitress to bring it right away- she bought it after our main entrees- and I was like? Hug! No - to mentioned it was only 2 other tables and another waitress- so it wasn't busy at all-
Service was horrible- will not come back!
