Food is fine but the service is hit or miss. Mostly miss. Found hair in my food.

There are two skinny (old-looking) waitresses who are usually inattentive, distracted, condescending and generally do not care about the guests. These two would stand and chat and ignore us to avoid getting called over. I've been here enough times to verify that this is how they are. I understand that this place can get really busy but that's not always the reason we get ignored. I love to support local businesses but ones that value their customers.

The only waitress who actually the best here is a Hispanic lady.

I hope these two don't work here so that I can come back but I'm sure that won't be the case since people around me had a same experience.

Edits: just look at other negatives reviews. There's a reason this place is rated so low.

I absolutely love this place and come for breakfast at least a few times a month. Great food and service. Would recommend if you're in the area.

Stopped in on a fairly busy Saturday and received great service, delicious food with very generous portion sizes, and some amazing cocktails. We'll definitely be back!

Good salad options and generally fresh food, though it’d be great to see more variety added. Service can feel disorganized — staff seem stretched and the order process could be smoother. The menu is vague, making it hard to tell what’s available, and only parts are posted.

The interior is charming but could use a light refresh — the art feels undersized and the colors a bit flat. Offering the full printed menu in a basket up front and tightening how orders are taken would help the experience live up to the quality and potential of the space.

My daughter had corned beef hash and said it was the best she's ever had. I had a mushroom omelette, which was bland, it came with potatoes which were also very bland. I was pretty disappointed with my breakfast. Overall, I was very disappointed in the food.

Waited an hour and a half for our group of 7, after being told 40 minutes, only to be seated separately because the tables only sit 4 and are bolted to the floor. When finally given the tables only one of them had been bussed and to wait around again. A simple bit of communication that we wouldn’t sit together would have allowed us to move on without wasting our time. Then another 30 minute wait for our food which was mediocre at best.

We visited First & Union Kitchen on Sunday, arriving during the lunch rush. The restaurant was full but the hostess found us a table without a wait. Despite how busy the restaurant was our server was attentive and engaged. Our food came out of the kitchen reasonably quickly and the portions were generous. The food was quite good (we had the grilled Italian sandwich and a Caesar wrap), and other dishes taken to other tables looked very good as well. We enjoyed our visit and will certainly visit again.

One of the best places to visit for good food, coffee and pastries. They have verity of delicious breakfast and lunch options, and great variety of breads to purchase to take home. They food tastes great, its one of my first choices to dine when I visit downtown Snohomish.
