Worst restaurant experience ever, bar none. Don't go. Just don't. I so wish I didn't have to write this, I was REALLY excited for good BBQ and a fun dinner with my 8 yo daughter and her dad. But this place was so poorly managed that they had virtually no food left to serve by 6 pm (we walked in at 5:55) yet they let us sit and wait for more than 1 hr while they played games with our order. No food ever graced our table. When we spoke to the manager about our experience, his response was to threaten to close the restaurant permanently. Wow. Yes please? Tipped our poor server and walked out. Waaayyy too negative an experience to ever go back.

Amazing Mac n cheese, delicious corn bread, and the brisket was fantastic. As a plus there is a nice relaxed ambiance and great paintings on the walls.

Summary: great service, decent atmosphere, pretty solid BBQ. They are trying hard and I appreciate that. Some places don't even try. These guys have the capacity to be excellent!notes from my visit:- the meat wasn't terribly flavorful but wasn't bad!- the brisket's texture was more dense and less juicy indicating it had been reheated or cooked slightly too long but was very solid. Better than many places in spokane.- the pulled pork was slightly dry- the BBQ sauce was good but not fantastic. That's ok!- the fried okra was oversalted... seemingly to cover up the old fryer oil taste.- Something was going on with their hvac system. This was a huge bummer. The place smelled like old electric motor windings were burning and the air also had an overall smell reminiscent of a moldy basement in a 1950's Era house. Like you were eating barbecue at grandma's basement hahaha not sure what was going on.

Best BBQ!! Besides the brisket sandwiches the smoked pulled pork poutine is my go to. Even with experiencing BBQ from the south, Austin's is still in my top favorites. They also make a mean Shirley temple! ;)

We LOVE this place. The pulled pork is spot on. Perfectly tender, bread is awesome, coleslaw is just right. THOSE FRIES THO. I love the fries so much.I haven't personally liked the other sides I've tried, but I'm super picky. :) Other people liked the beans, okra and mashed potatoes. Want to try the mac n cheese next.

Delicious brisket and very tasty BBQ sauce. Highly recommend. Super friendly staff. Now the big surprise was the churros. Incredibly fluffy and full of flavor. Topped off with Mexican chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream. The best I have ever had. If you are a whisky fan, they have an amazing selection. Definitely a hidden gem!

Sorry, long review but if you know and appreciate barbecue please stay with it.For true aficionados Central Texas is the center of the barbecue universe. We moved to Spokane after 35 years in San Antonio. We also have had relatives in Austin, Burnet and Lampasas so we know central Texas cuisine. We had brisket, chicken, fried okra and mac and cheese. The server explained that the meat was smoked over applewood starting a 4:00 each morning. The applewood flavor was a little different, a little sweeter than the mesquite, oak and sometimes pecan we are used to. Having said that the applewood was a good new discovery. The brisket - wow! Moist and so tender we did not need a knife and with a beautiful smoke ring that proves no shortcuts were taken. The chicken was moist, tender, nice and pink; a sign of slow smoking. Gouda mac and cheese is not something you would find in Texas but boy were we glad they added it here. Sinful - period. Do it. We did not think we would have good fried okra after leaving Texas but we are glad it made it's way here. If you have not had fried okra do and you will not look back. The sauce was o.k. Now being o.k. is not bad it just didn't have the tanginess we were used to so it was not the star. But as any true aficionado will know: if you have to use sauce it's not barbecue. But wars have been fought over sauce so having said that don't be afraid it.If you want Texas barbecue with a Northwestern flair then you have found it!

Can't beat the happy hour! $1.50 for delicious tacos, plus 25% off drinks is awesome! Not normally a fan of slaw, but the jalapeño slaw that's on the tacos and their green sauce really adds some great taste to the already tasty meats.

Wow! Hit this place up for happy hour and get the tacos! Sides are plenty enough to share and EXCELLENT all around. Thanks so much!
