Very accommodating on food choices. Service was great. Plenty of seating for large or small groups. Have a full bar if you'd like choices of drinks. Check out their specials that rotate weekly. They also do take out with generous portions.

I went to this restaurant with my mom on 2/16/2026. I had grown up going to the Cathay Inn and figured it was a safe choice. It was not. My mom and I both ordered the Dinner Combo #7. It came with Sweet and Sour Chicken, Pork Chow Mein, Fried Rice and Fried Shrimp. They served the Fried Shrimp with ketchup, mustard and sesame seeds, which was very odd. Every other place I have been to served the shrimp with sweet and sour sauce. The shrimp was soaked in grease and the breading was doughy- should have been cooked longer. The fried rice was ok. The egg drop soup and chow mein were very good. The sweet and sour chicken was terrible. The breading on the chicken, again, doughy and not cooked well. It made the entire dish mushy and not good. We will not visit this establishment again. There’s much better Chinese Food in Spokane.

Since my wife is Chinese she is more difficult to impress with Chinese food. But, I myself was less than impressed. I think if you don't know any better you will be good with the food here. I think the UGM would serve about the same quality more or less.

Food was the most average thing you could get. Ketchup, that's what was given to dip food in, not duck sauce, or sweet and sour. Nothing brings out a Prawns flavor more than ketchup. The variety of food was not there, unless you want $50 worth of just noodles and chicken. Skip this place and go elsewhere, save your money.

I ordered take out today for my husband and I's 49th anniversary. As my husband is now housebound we could not visit as usual. The food was exceptionally good. The portions were very generous. The order was perfect, nothing was forgotten. The attention to detail is an art that eludes many dining establishments. So a perfect order of delicious food is a great way to celebrate the day. Thank you.

Food not nearly as good as in many previous trips. I was a bit disappointed.

I went to Google and ordered from their menu. Went to pick it up and it was almost a $10 difference! And the person that brought my meal said,oh did you order off of google? Yes I did.
Well that price is not right. So you know about it and aren't doing anything to fix it? Look like a deer in the headlight. And the food was not even that good!

Service was great and fast.
Egg flower soup, BBQ pork, beef fried rice were good.
General Tsos chicken was HARD very unflavorful, pork fried rice just tasted like soy sauce, lemon chicken was soggy.
Probably won't go back.

We moved out of Spokane its the one place we go to when we visit. Sad to say nothing tasts the same the famous sweet and sour sauce, I'll be kind and say it's different, prices are higher aand smaller portions. I've been a customer since the 70's to say the least I was disappointed 😞.

By far the worst Chinese food I have ever eaten. 2 attempts to make a chow mein that were both just processed foods mixed together. Should have realized it wasn't good by the empty car park at 5pm on a Sunday. My son and I now both have stomach ache with in 15 minutes of leaving there. Thanks!

I went with a group of friends for a birthday dinner. First off the waiter was amazing!! I ordered a noodle dish and egg flower soup. The others in my party ordered combo dinners to split. Appetizers were good. The egg flowe soup tasted odd and was super salty. The noodle dish was pure salt, noodles looked reheated and the taste other than pure salt tasted like dry dogfood smells when it's wet. It was disgusting. I have NEVER sent anything back at a restaurant and would not pay for it in my entire life and I am 62 years old!! I did with this meal. I did pay for the soup and tipped the waiter nicely it was not his fault. It dimmed the celebration but we made due. The other dishes were salty as well but was eaten. I will not be going back to the Cathay Inn. It's truly sad as this used to be the go to restaurant for our family gatherings. It's went downhill.

I've been going to this restaurant for at least 25 years and would say it's one of the best Chinese restaurants in Spokane.
