I don't understand why we had such terrible service. No call backs, Nothing for months! Atleast they showed up for the wedding! And come to find out they are closing the business!! Still no excuse for bad service !!!!!

Our experience working with Shirley and Charley's Catering Company had ups and downs. We went to a tasting and fell in love with the food. We immediately put down a deposit for our wedding and left excited. When we had our first meeting with Shirley it was business per usual. She came across as a no nonsense type of person and was very blunt as to what she thought we should do. We appreciated her input and did implement some of her ideas.The day of our wedding the food was fabulous! The servers we so kind and helpful, they were great to work with!My biggest disappointment about the entire thing was they were 2 hours late. In the grand scheme of things, dinner was only served 30min late, but they were late none the less. None of our guests even knew the difference, but I was very disappointed about how things went down.Charley's was supposed to arrive around 3:00 PM and dinner was to be served at 5:00 PM. As we were lining up for the ceremony (4PM) I realized they were no where to be found. I asked my wedding coordinator and she immediately called Shirley. Per that phone call, my coordinator was very flustered and expressed how rude and unhelpful she was. We went ahead with the ceremony as planned and crossed our fingers. As the ceremony finished, still no caterer. My coordinator then called Shirley again and didn't really receive any information. We were in the dark.Thankfully the staff did arrive at 5:15 PM, but dinner was supposed to have been served at 5:00 PM. Everything was set up in such a hurry and the excuse we got for the tardiness was "we got stuck at a train". Reasons/excuses aside, there was no communication.In the days following the wedding I expected some kind of communication from Shirley about what had happened, but we have not been contacted. I have been debating about whether to even write this review, but I would hate for this to happen to anyone else. Maybe it was just a fluke thing, but it really stressed us out during our wedding to think that we were not going to have dinner for everyone.

Charlie’s put together an event for us on only two days notice. The food was fantastic-everyone was raving about it. Presented nicely and Shirley helped put the menu together and it was just what we wanted. Very nicely displayed and the service was outstanding.They helped make our event very special. Oh my goodness! Charley’s catered our church meeting. We took home meals, either beef stroganoff or chicken lasagna. We had the lasagna, and it blew us away! I am a foodie and a cook, and it truly is the best I have ever had or made, and if you knew me, that is a huge compliment! Thank you Charley’s !

Our family hadn’t gathered together in over 2 ½ years, so the perfect location to have our party was Charley’s Catering Event Center. We had lots of room and plenty of time to catch up with everyone. And with the buffet dinner, no one was tasked with making food, setting up the buffet or cleaning up afterwards. And what wonderful food it was. We had the Encrusted Beef Sirloin Roast, which was so wonderfully prepared that everyone thought it was prime rib! On the side we had two sauces for the meat, the Port Wine Demi Glaze and the Gorgonzola Sauce. The Tri-potato Au Gratin was so good it disappeared almost immediately. Owner and Chef Shirley Williams is so talented in the kitchen! This is the perfect place to have your family gatherings, birthday parties, retirement parties or any other event and we highly recommend it.

Charley's Catering did a great job for our June wedding. They set-up the food beautifully, worked with the venue fabulously, served the desserts which came separately from a separate vendor. They were professional and the food was fabulous. I had multiple guests come up to me and complimented me on the quality of the food. The staff were professional and great to work with.

I have fond memories of singing karaoke at Charley's, both in the late 1990s when I would see what Dempsey's drag queens looked like without makeup and lip sync, and in the 2010s when I would be able to watch Spokane's fantastic stage actors often come sing after performing at the Civic Theater.
