We had a lovely time trying Afghani food for the first time. We sat in the traditional seating area. Highly recommend the manto and the chicken kabob with rice!

I had an incredible experience at this Afghani restaurant. The food was full of authentic flavors — the kabobs were juicy, the rice was perfectly seasoned, and the mantu dumplings were a must-try. The portions were generous, and everything tasted freshly made.

This was the first time trying food from Afghanistan. I was very impressed. The service was very friendly, like I was a guest in someone’s home. The food is very large portion sizes, but very flavorful. If you feel adventurous, please try this place. I had some great Uzbek style lamb here. My only minor complaint is the lack of decor within the interior. However, there’s a neat little afghan market attached to interior with some cool import grocery and clothing from regions of the Middle East. I’d love to come back and try some other dishes I’ve never had before and I probably couldn’t find anywhere else. Please give this place a try!

Quiet on a Sunday. There was one couple there when we got there and then just us. We ordered and then looked at the store that is next door. Some really cool stuff. Our picky son ordered the lamb kabobs with rice. The rice is a $2.80 up charge with some of the dishes so be aware. He LOVED the kebabs and rice (3 heat). He said he really enjoyed the flavor. My husband ordered the chicken kebab with rice (2 heat) . He felt like his was spicier than my son's, but still enjoyed it! I had the meatballs with rice and I really enjoyed the flavors! I ordered a side of naan, but they forgot to bring it to us. We were getting full so we didn't worry about it. They brought out 2 sides of diced veggies (tomatoes, onions and cucumber) and it looked like a yogurt based sauce. It was tasty, but spicy for my palette. The veggies were sooo tasty on my rice! Service was good. If your wanting something different, definitely try this place out!

Our family visited for the first time this week. We aren't very familiar with Afghani food, and now we are ready to try more! From the seasonings to tenderness of the meat and balance of ingredients, it was absolutely delicious. Our 8-year-old loved the meatballs and claims this is her new favorite restaurant. We will definitely be back.

A Hidden Gem in Spokane – Emran Restaurant and Market
My daughter told me there was another secret in Spokane… a really great secret. She said we were going out for lunch at a place called Emran Restaurant and Market. Honestly, I was a little skeptical when we pulled up. From the outside, it looked closed. But the moment we opened the door, I could tell there was something special about this place.
Now let me skip to the good part: the food was phenomenal.
I couldn’t believe the depth of flavor. I’m a vegetarian, and I ordered the eggplant dish. It completely blew me away. Every bite was rich, savory, and satisfying. I had it with naan, and the way the bread soaked up all that deliciousness? Perfection.
We also had a couple of the dipping sauces, which were just as flavorful.
Now, I don’t eat meat but if you do, this is definitely a place to try. My daughter couldn’t stop raving about how tender and perfectly seasoned the meat was.
I’ll just say this: if you're in Spokane and you love food, especially bold, beautiful flavors, don’t miss Emran. It might look unassuming from the outside, but what’s happening in the kitchen is anything but ordinary. Also, the 20 minute wait time was only because they were making things fresh so please be patient.
You won’t regret it.

I sincerely wish we had more Afghani food in the area. This was amazing. They are so polite. The tea is lovely before the food comes out. The lamb was fall off the bone tender. The kebab was soo savory and delicious. We tried several menu items and almost nothing survived to come home afterwards. Absolutely worth it. A thousand thank yous!

Food was wayyy expensive. Seemed old and just heated up. Naan was as well warmed and not fresh. Please avoid this spot if possible
