Used to be good, not consistent ever since the new owners took over.

I want to like it but the roast is just too bitter. We’ve tried a couple of blends and I’m just at a point where I can’t justify $7-8 for a cup of coffee that doesn’t make me happy. I was also informed that the person who made me feel most welcome at the shop was let go, which is unfortunate because that was a large part of my draw to come back.

Knowledgeable and friendly workers, very high-quality coffee, baked goods are pretty hit or miss.
There should really be at least two highchairs for use at the large table; they aren't very expensive and the employee said that people have to just leave their kids in strollers to eat which is not very accommodating.

Had to knock off a star for the $.20 to go charge per drink.

The bakers were out sick so I didn’t get to try the waffles 🥹(really wanted waffles). Service was excellent. Espresso was just too bright for my tastes although I realize that’s a trend. Very cool space.

They have a piano! Also my drink was pretty awesome. Service was prompt but lacked interaction. I'm not a cold weather person and was wearing a giant not very stylish jack and I'm 37. Maybe I wasn't stylish enough or the young college scene on a Sunday was just out of my league.

Either way great place, good drinks, and I had a good time.

Thanks to Zac & his team. Delicious, organic, coffee. I had the Butter Sage latte and it was unique and delicious. My partner had a cappuccino and it was authentic and exactly what he had wanted. The coffee cake was phenomenal- We look forward to future visits!

One of my favorite places in Spokane to get coffee ☕ they have a wide variety of flavors and house made options. Many deserts to choose from but being gluten free they usually always have one or two options, all of which have been amazing! Never been disappointed.

Dietary restrictions: A handful of gluten free options. Have never had a reaction here and I am pretty gluten sensitive.

Kid-friendliness: I always bring my 2 year old and he loves looking out the big windows.

“First Ave Coffee is hands down the best spot in Spokane for a cozy coffee experience! Their pumpkin loaf is a must-try—perfectly moist with just the right amount of spice, making it the ideal fall treat. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff is always friendly and knowledgeable about their brews. Whether you’re looking for a morning pick-me-up or a relaxing place to unwind, this place is a gem. Highly recommend!”

If you enjoy coffee you need to visit First Avenue Coffee.

I am particularly drawn to the pour over options as it allows me to try coffee that I would not normally be drinking. The menu board has a wide variety of options for you to try. The nitro cold brew is amazing.

The staff is always friendly and efficient. The food is solid. If you are looking for gluten free, vegan, or vegetarian options they have you covered.

The space is open and bright with abundant seating. The upper mezzanine is a great place to enjoy. coffee and read or have a quiet conversation. The rotating artwork brings something new each time I visit from out of town.

Spokane you are lucky to have First Avenue Coffee!

Parking: Street parking that can be a bit challenging during the workweek. It is worth it to find a spot to park and then go enjoy the coffee

I wanted a coffee and a doughnut. They only sell gluten free? I let the man behind me in line go ahead, not realizing he was with a lawyers office. He bought 1/2 of ALL the scones, doughnuts, and breakfast type thingy muffins. Ok. So I get I muffin with sausage, mozzarella, and egg plus a coffee. Unfortunately the 2 kinds of doughnuts left do not look appealing. And this was at 715am on a Thursday morning. My muffin tasted like chemicals. It was warmed up and they put 2 cucumber slices, shaved cabbage, and a balsamic glaze next to it for presentation. But it's breakfast? The coffee was great and the space is stunningly beautiful! I however won't be back. Sorry.
