Was not expecting batch made matcha, especially from ceremonial grade....I understand it gets busy and maybe most people don't mind that but I think for very fancy place that clearly prides itself on quality beverages they should be whisking it fresh for every drink. Matcha separates and oxidizes as it sits and I saw that the barista did not shake the bottle of concentrate enough (I saw the shadow of the matcha sediment at the bottom of the bottle) so it's no wonder...
I want to like it but the roast is just too bitter. We’ve tried a couple of blends and I’m just at a point where I can’t justify $7-8 for a cup of coffee that doesn’t make me happy. I was also informed that the person who made me feel most welcome at the shop was let go, which is unfortunate because that was a large part of my draw to come back.
