We loved everything about this place! It was my first time here and my mom’s second time. Julia was an exemplary waitress and answered all of our questions! The food was fresh, full of flavor and simply delicious. The watermelon drink special was the best mixed drink I had ever had. Can’t wait to go back.

Spicy food is supposed to be an Asian specialty, yet it's bizarrely difficult to get anything spicy here. The handful of spicy dishes like the Kung Pao chicken are incredibly weak, and not any better quality than you'd find at a place like Panda Express.
Excellent flavors and very well executed roles and nigiri. Very fresh ingredients and service was outstanding. Nice upscale atmosphere

Best sushi! Crab rangoons are amazing! Good service and lots of variety of food. Vegetarian options as well. Tofu is just written in a small area

We have been to Izumi several times and the food and service have always been very good. They have a great selection of sushi and their drink selection is great for a sushi place. I do think there are better sushi restaurants in Spokane but this one is good.
I am sure you are asking why did you rate it 3 stars? There were a few things that gave me pause about coming back.
1. The bartender forgot to make our drinks so we didn’t get our drinks until our food arrived. Annoying but not a deal breaker.
2. I dropped my chopsticks on the ground during dinner. Definitely my clumsy mistake. However, our server was no where to be found and I ended up having to use my partner’s chopsticks to finish my meal.
3. Later, I was watching the bartender make some drinks and she dropped the drink shaker on the ground. Instead of washing it since it dropped on the ground before using again, she just quickly rinsed it out. This makes me question the sanitation practices of the restaurant.
4. Two gnats flew into my drink. This happens sometimes. However, I noticed behind our table that there were insect traps for ants. Not a good look to have customers seeing this and a good preventative pest control program from a licensed pest control company would eliminate the need for visible traps. This also makes me question the cleanliness of the restaurant.
Food was great, service was good but if I question the cleanliness of the establishment, that makes me think twice about returning.

Best sushi in Spokane. High quality fish! Rolls are tight and very tasty. The staff Is very knowledgeable and knows their menu and eager to help you figure out what you like. The drinks are expensive, but so good!!! They have definitely perfected the bar using quality ingredients makes a big difference. highly recommend!

Came here for a birthday party and my order was forgotten. It happens. Large group, gracious attitude. Over 20 min later I still don’t have my one roll while everyone else is paying by check and done eating. Waiter kept the roll on the bill, still hadn’t arrived, insincere with apology. Offered a to go box and we ended up canceling it all together. I had not eaten that day and ended up at McDonald’s for a fry after everyone else had beautiful and delicious sushi. Everyone loved their food.atmosphere is beautiful. I put on a smile and had a good time for my friend. But I was very unimpressed with how I was ignored and treated.

Sushi was great. Server forgetting to ring in someone's food and inability to get it made before everyone else was done eating and ready for the checks? Not so cool. Wasn't handled professionally, no priority to get the missing food made and apology was insincere. Unsure if I'll return. Do better Izumi.

My kids and I love this place. We are here very frequently. We ask for a booth and say we are willing to wait every time we come in. This is the 2nd time in two weeks that the new manager Michelle has lied to me about available booths. The wait staff are absolutely amazing, food is great, Michelle has no personal relation skills and lies to customers. I'm a bit upset because we spend a lot of time here and I know the owners would never approve of the way we were treated by Michelle. Very disappointed.

The fried green beans and coconut mojito were definitely the highlight for me here. The drinks are excellent, the food not so much. I went here because someone reccomended it to me though i have a different favorite sushi spot in town. The service was great and the staff was super friendly and fast! The food however left much to be desired in my opinion. The rolls with any kind of fried component tasted extremely greasy and wet with oil, maybe their oil was too cold or old? Otherwise the fish tasted a bit fishy and not as fresh as othet sushi i have had in town definitely had a funk to it that made me a bit worried. Luckily no ill effects happened. We tried the downtown roll which was definitely my least favorite, the crunchy stuff inside was soaking in grease and tasted like pure old frying oil. The Washington roll was reccomended by the server and was my favorite of the bunch since it didnt have any fried element, the asparagus was great and i liked the tobiko! But the fish was a bit fishy and old tasting. Then i believe we tried the spider web roll which had the same old stale grease and unfresh fish flavor. The coconut mojito i got was delicious and my partners lychee martini was super yummy. The tempura green beans had a bit of the grease but tasted great with the smoky salty dipping sauce. Overall i dont think id dine here again though its close by, ill make the trek over to my favorite spot in town instead for the higher quality fish!

The food was absolutely delicious. The hot sake is an absolute must, especially when followed by a cheeky cold sake next. I can not remember the names of what we got, but the portion sizes were nice for the price
Also the waiter we had was one of the friendliest and most helpful waiters I have ever had the pleasure to deal with.

Good tangerine beef, good rolls, good edamame, we did not enjoy the cashew chicken. I felt it was overpriced for quantity and quality that was given.

My husband and I LOVE this place, and we eat here at least once a month. Our only issue is that when automatic gratuity is added to takeout, we would appreciate being told. Everything else about this place is great, and we will continue to eat here often.
