Horrible place to work, toxic environment and leadership. Insults, belittling and discrimination, just not worth the pay.

Ordered French dip through DoorDash.. they didn’t even give me a cup of Au jous.. never again
The wait time is awfully loooooong. Waiting for about 20 mixtures just to order. Then waited for another 20 minutes to get my order, a simple salad.. and as I was waiting, I decided to read the reviews aaaaand I think the best option would've been to skip this place...

I dined at Nordstrom Cafe while in Spokane on a business trip. It was lunch time, but since it was a weekday, the restaurant was pretty empty. But I liked the space, it was very clean and spacious.I ordered Wild Salmon W/ Roasted Vegetables & Saffron Couscous and asked hot water w slice of lemon. The couscous salad was a little sweet for me, but the combination with the sockeye salmon was good. I would like to stop by here next time I come to Spokane.

Maybe y'all's food is good but pick up times for delivery services needs to be adjusted. Wasting drivers time.
02/24/24 6:00pmThis place is a zero star.First off, this place is very hard to find. When you do find it, expect to see a misleading sign that makes you think you are not at the restaurant, but you are. it tells you to go to the 3rd floor to eat at the cafe. The two girls at the front desk were both on their phones texting when we walked up. We asked how to get to the restaurant, and they said the sign is confusing this is the restaurant. We were told to grab a menu sit wherever we want, and when we're ready to order, come back up and order and pay. Odd, so we go in only two patrons, were in the entire place. That should have been a clue to get the heck out of there. But we decided to give them the benefit of the doubt because the reviews were too terrible. By the way, I'm pretty sure those reviews are fake. So, there are no drink options. I even wondered if we got water. We make our selection order and pay for the food, they do this so the meal is paid for because its horrible food and they know you wont want to pay after you see it also they ask for there tip when you order aswell so despite there horrible service they still got a good tip, its was like we were rewarding bad behavior as a server. I wouldn't mind giving a good tip to a deserving server. So, while we wait, the waitress pulls away from her phone to bring us water. Then she goes right back to her phone. This place is a joke!!!! We get our food. Mine is a salad called green goodness. Let me say there was no goodness to this salad. How can you mess this up. Every veggie was pickled except the spinach. The hard-boiled eggs were really old and looked really green and smelled bad. It was soggy and sour. I couldn't eat it. I was worried I would get sick from old food. My husband's meal was just as bad. he had a salad and a beyond burger. How can you go wrong? This salad was soggy and sour, too. And the burger, he said, no pickles, and they brought a completely plain cheese burger it had just beyond meat and cheese, nothing else, and the cheese was that fake stuff that looked like plastic. This is great. We're starving. We just got done attending the funeral of a friend who was in a tragic car accident. So the day continued to get worse for us. Shame on those who falsely give reviews. The health department should take a look at this place before someone gets seriously sick. With that said, you have been warned ⚠️ dine at your own risk.
Vegetarian options: Salad is soggy and sour

I worked here off and on from roughly 2013-2017. Awesome food, clean kitchen, high quality ingredients. High turnover in restaurant management. Lots of employees come in to get free water and sit on their break, which was annoying. The cafe supplies the espresso bar with most of their fresh foods. Nordstrom’s pay was absolutely horrible.
The service is unconventional but I love it. It makes the process quick and easy so I can relax at my table. The food is rich and delicious. Servers are on point, I'm really glad I gave this small Cafe a shot. The only downside is they only serve coffee not espresso. I could really see this little market Cafe becoming extremely popular with that addition. It's also very difficult to find, you wouldn't expect it to be IN Nordstrom but it is on 3rd floor. Very much worth the find though. I hope they branch out, if they haven't already.

This Cafe tucked away inside Nordstroms is a great place to get away from crowds. It's popular, but it's just off the beaten path to have shorter lines and quiet atmosphere. Excellent food. I had the Santa Fe panini, and my wife and kids had the Turkey Club. Pasta, soups, and salads are also available. Booths available.
Vegetarian options: Salads and soups available. You could also likely order a veggie sandwich or pasta if you request it.
Kid-friendliness: We took our kids there and they finished their food. They ate the turkey club with potato chips.
Wheelchair accessibility: Elevators available to lift you to the upper floors.

Didn't even know this place existed, until today. We were beyond pleased with the service and food. Making this our new go-to lunch spot when downtown.
I went in yesterday for lunch and got clam chowder, the girls at the counter were fine not the best customer service but fine. When the soup came it wasn’t soup consistency it was more like thick oatmeal. It was also lukewarm In temperature. I asked our waiter if he would mind heating it up, he then said “we don’t have a microwave” (odd, but understandable I guess I can’t argue with what they do or don’t have but what restaurant doesn’t have a microwave?) Then he proceeded to say “I can bring you some hot water?” I was a bit shocked- as if I should water down and ruin the soup with water to make it hotter? I just was not impressed. The soup was good besides that situation. But 8$ for a cup of soup and a 18% tip for it to be cold is just not something I will be coming back to do anytime soon.
Way overpriced for what you get. Food was good, but probably worth half the price.
I order from this place so frequently, I wonder if the staff worry about me when I go more than a week without ordering. ? My go to orders are the tomato soup, the French dip, grilled skirt steak, heirloom tomatoes with burrata, and the three egg breakfast. Also, the cookies are fantastic. I'm addicted to the Royal cookie, but the Lemon Ricotta is a close second.
Great service and good food.
