I was visiting from out of town. Came to Spokane to spend my birthday weekend with my 2 son's. Not familiar with the area, my children's mom recommended Mizuna. The service- Both my boy's are now adults, but they also have autism. This sometimes triggers others to treat them like they're children. Our waitress directly engaged with them as if they were no different than any other normal adult. As if she couldn't even tell even though it's blatantly obvious. This encouraged my oldest to look directly at her and give his order with a clear and confident voice without stuttering. He even tossed in some hand gestures to over accentuate what he was saying. To the parents of kids on the spectrum, you know how huge this is. The food- Everything we ordered was awesome. The risotto balls, oven baked chicken, cashew crusted avocado noodles. The only let down was that they were out of the crème brûlée. The key lime and bread pudding definitely made up for it though. The drinks- I love me a good classic old fashioned. It's getting harder and harder these days to find an establishment that won't destroy this drink. The bartender came through on this one. My oldest son has a thing for espresso martini's. I asked him how it was and he responded with a double thumbs up. When it was time for the second and third drink, I just asked the waitress to get me whatever drinks she favored. Again she didn't disappoint. We finally ended the night with a couple shots of a very tasty espresso. The food, the drinks, and especially the awesome waitress (I wish I could remember her name). Grabbing something to eat turned into having a nice family dinner.

Wow! Portland food snob guy meets Spokane must eat at restaurant. The menu was delicious. I had the scallops with risotto and asparagus and it was amazing! The service and attentiveness were world class. Authena our waitress was the boss of all bosses. This lady is a 9 year veteran of Mizuna who knows how to Sing it! Bring it! And Fling it! She is a true craftsman of her trade. Highly recommend this establishment! Awesome place.

This was the best meal of my life. I'm a bit of a foodie so this is not an understatement. My family and I had the pork loin with squash puree and the grilled chicken in gorgonzola sauce, aranccini, butter lettuce salad, and the vegan corn cream of the day. It was unbelievable, perfectly balanced flavors, and very generous portions. Emily was our server tonight and she is a delight! Thank you for making such a wonderful experience for us. Will return every time I'm in town!Vegetarian options: Menu is very accommodating for vegan and vegetarian restrictions

Highly recommend Mizuna. The service is exceptional, great recommendations and attentive. The food is absolutely wonderful. We had the scallops with oyster risotto and the NY strip with Gorgonzola potatoes both were top notch. The crab cakes were delicious but the smoked trout bruschetta was perfect and that comes from people who don't normally like trout. This restaurant will not disappoint.

Really good food and execution- service was perfect- wine list has some real winners- the Madeira desert wine is all I can ask for in a Madeira. 10/10 for us. Amazed the price relative to food quality was so low. Very much a value. Pork loin on sweet potatoes mash w apple onion 10-10 Clam appetizer 10/10 Butternut salad w capers - missed for us But not complaining- wife asked me to order something else when she was in bathroom Aranchi in tomato sauce with pesto 10/10 Asparagus soup 9/10 - for me 10/10 Bad was perfect. Love hot soft bread.

Had our rehearsal dinner here for our wedding and we return every anniversary. Great cocktails, appetizers, and plenty of vegetarian options.

This place was amazing, then I think they got a new Chef or changed ingredients. The food has become unbelievably salty. The salt just completely overpowers any of the amazing flavors. I hate to see this place go down hill. It used to be hard to get a table now it's pretty empty. It's hard to justify spending that much on a meal if you know the salt isn't a fluke, it's happened every time we've gone there since the summer. Please mizuna fix the salt problem!!

The place is lovely, however we ordered the salmon bruschetta, and the bread was super hard and super dry. It was difficult to bite into it. Which was sad since the salmon and the spread were just yummy.

HOLY SHMOLY!We were seeing a movie so I googled what was a close place for dinner and Mizuna popped up and let me tell you, I am SO glad it did.EVERYTHING we ate or drank was amazing. We started with the ginger and jalapeño crab cakes… guys, best crab cakes I have ever had!A mild mustard was with it and on its own I was like “eh” (I’m more of a tangy mustard person) but WITH the crab cake itself.. DECADENT!My boyfriend got the New York and ordered it medium rare… debated on rare because when you go to a restaurant they never cook them to a perfect medium rare BUT this was done PERFECTLY. It really was a beautiful steak.I got the seared scallops and risotto. UH-MAZING.I figured I’d get 3… you get 5! 5 delicious scallops on delicious risotto ?Our cocktails were amazing too..I think I am running out of adequate adjectives to describe this meal. It was so so so good!!!Now, it was pricey.. our meal was $200+ but we got an appetizer, 2 entrees and a few drinks each.BUT IT WAS SO WORTH IT!!!!!Oh, the service was amazing too. We loved our waitress. I don’t remember her name but she is blonde and bubbly. Very genuine!! Said she does art! So hopefully if you guys see this you know who I am talking about.

It’s been a minute since we have been to Mizuna I’m sorry to say. I am pleased to report that the quality has remained outstanding and my wife and I had another delightful experience at this Spokane gem of a restaurant. If you’ve been, let this be your reminder to hurry back? If you’ve NOT been. Look no farther? This place is terrific and you’ll be delighted that you went.Vegetarian options: We like the vegetarian options just because the dishes are put together so well. Highly recommend the lettuce wrap app which has a delightful blend of mushrooms ROASTED hazelnuts tempe light peppers in what tastes like an Asian inspired light sauce…. Oh my!! Delightful.

Still amazing!Vegetarian options: Two menus available each with an equal number of options. Their vegetarian meatloaf is superior to any meat version.

We tried Mizuna for the first time almost exactly two years ago and weren't impressed. Because of so many great reviews we decided to give it another go this Valentine's Day, hoping we would have some different choices. Disappointingly, it appeared to be the same menu as it was two years ago. The bottom line is for the money, the food is good enough, but not great. I had the pork tenderloin, which I thought had too much black pepper. My hubby had the seafood linguine which he also thought was over spiced. The butter lettuce salad and ginger pear martini I had were both actually quite tasty. I wish I could say the same for the main courses with the $175 bill. Sadly, we won't be going back.

Just had Valentines dinner with my wife. Without a doubt we had a fantastic dinner with drinks. What would be called an appetizer but much bigger and dinner plates on top of that. You need to try this place and enjoy.

Service is excellent.Atmosphere is Yuppy and temp too cool.Food is way over seasoned. My steamed clams full of bacon. Pork tenderloin very hot with pepper and who-knows-what. Seafood linguine tastes like a beef dish, couldn’t eat it all. After our second attempt at this local favorite, we’re not going back.Maybe the vegi dishes are better?Didn’t have any dessert, but the crème brûlée looked great at the table next to us. They didn’t finish it.I suggest Mizuna get a new chef and/or recipes. The menu didn’t look like it had changed in two years.

Great food and staff! I always enjoy eating at Mizuna. It's weird how the lighting in the brick alleyway is so great for taking pictures, too. It's a lovely spot downtown.
