I attended a wedding recently and for dinner, they had the Italian buffet from Nectar. Maybe it was an off night for this business, but I was quite disappointed by the food. The spaghetti sauce was bland. The Alfredo sauce was so runny it just ran through the penne pasta. The salad was limp and the bread sticks were just plain. They did provide the little butter packets. Sad. The pasta was good though and the chicken was good. I would think twice before hiring this company to cater your event.

I'll start by saying I don't often leave reviews and I certainly am surprised that I have to write this one, but the experience was overall not good, in many ways - so here we go..

Katie Wade was the best as far as responding to my inquiry quickly, promptness of sending over the estimate, and confirming the date upon payment.

Everything thereafter was not so great.

Food arrived an hour early. I suppose not a huge deal but noticeable.

The food itself is where I was most surprised and disappointed. The salmon was extremely dry, with the skin on. The chicken saltimbocca was also very dry. The chicken itself had no flavor except for the sage leaf left inside which was overpowering.

The confit potatoes were cooked very well, but again, no flavor or seasoning at all.

The strawberry feta spinach salad was supposed to have feta and almonds, but all we got was spinach and strawberries, and the salad was way over dressed to where it was almost inedible because the sweet vinegarrete was literally all you could taste.

The assortment of "mini desserts" were dreadful and clearly previously frozen items... except for the cookies which also seemed store bought...

The agreement was that catering was to pick up at 6:30pm as our Executive meeting ended at 7pm. My front desk gal told me that Steven said he would be back after 7pm. I called Steven and touched base, he said coming back at 6:30pm was fine. I got a text at 6:45 saying he was sorry and got caught up so he would be there in 15 minutes. He arrive at 7:10. He did clean up and pack up quickly, which was greatly appreciated. After a long day of work, staying later to wait wasn't ideal.

I was asked by Steven how everything was. I told him exactly what I have wrote in this review. No, I wasn't a "Karen" about it. I simply said if I could speak freely, that I was highly disappointed and heard the same thing from other attendees.

Upon discussing this with a colleague of mine, I was informed that she had also had a bad experience the last time she used Nectar for another corporate meeting of ours and that it seems like over time, Nectar has lost its quality.

Unfortunately, I don't think we will be using them again. Catering is all about the quality of food and service - Both of those were lacking sorely, except for getting my estimate back quickly and them taking payment in advance to secure the date.

We were fortunate to be selected to be part of their Wine Wednesday Dinner Series this year. Chef Steven prepared our Lions Mane into steaks accompanied by delicious side dishes, and of course amazing wine! The environment is warm and welcoming. The owner Josh is a great guy who makes you feel like you’re part of the family. During the dinner, you’ll hear Josh introduce the featured local business, and then you’ll hear from the business what they do and who they are. This concept supports our local businesses and promotes their wine, so it’s definitely a win-win! During the event you are invited to mingle and ask the featured business any questions you may have. We are very thankful to be part of their dinner series and recommend trying them out. While there, we met many people who love this dinner series so much that they bought tickets to every dinner they offer!

Nectar Catering was SO fantastic to work with for our wedding reception! I cannot recommend them enough! The food was amazing, we got so many compliments and the venue space was gorgeous. They were so helpful, kind and professional and went above and beyond what I could have imagined to make our day special. It was also very affordable. 10/10, would recommend to anyone!!

We just had Nectar cater our wedding for around 100 guests. They did a BBQ spread for us and we got numerous compliments about how good the food was. The staff was friendly, attentive, helpful, and made sure that our guests with celiac disease and dairy allergies had safe food to eat. Several guests have reached out asking for their information to use at their events. We would absolutely recommend them and would call them again.

Steve (the head chef) is the best. Absolutely goes out of his way to make your event here a memorable experience. Plus the building is quite unique!

Private event space using the oldest building in Spokane. Owners operate numerous other area eateries, they deliver a memorable experience every time. Look for events open to the community throughout the year, including themed dinners and plated paired wine dinners.

I was very excited to try Nectar. I knew the view would be great. Love outdoor seating. My excitement dwindled quickly. Don't be fooled by the menu online. It has not been updated. They have a corking fee if you want to buy a bottle of wine and drink it there. They are selling the wine and want to charge you $8 to open it. She said we could take home any wine we didn't drink. We came to drink wine at their facility. Had read online the charcuterie board was large and plentiful. And the pictures online looked to be true. Online the menu said $18 but the menu in front of us said $22. The only thing that was plentiful was crackers and small grapes. There were 2 kinds of meat. We got 3 small pieces of each. There were 3 different kinds of cheese. No wedges like seen in the picture. About 3 small pieces about an inch in diameter. And the goat cheese in the middle was not much more than a tablespoon crumbled and spread out. There were 4 half slices of a small apple, 3 dried pieces of apricot and 6 almonds. There were also 6 peppers. Was very disappointed. We won't be back.

We used nectar for our wedding catering for a 250 person wedding and it was the best experience we could have ever asked for. First, the food sampling they give is amazing. The chef and the owner sit with you and explain all of your dishes and it truly feels like a personalized experience where they deeply care about their food. They are very organized and do not overbook themselves. Your day is about you and they make that so clear. We received so many compliments on our wedding food. People said it was the best wedding food they’ve ever had. The buffet line moved quickly and you could tell this team knows how to make a wedding run smooth! We would do it all again!

Rented out the larger room for my parents 50th anniversary. We had about 35 people. Fit very well. The venue is beautiful. We happened to have our party the same weekend as hoopfest, which made it difficult for parking but as the evening wound down and our party started at 6:00 we were able to find street parking a few blocks away. The food was amazing. We chose the luau and the service was amazing. I planned this party from Colorado and was able to do so smoothly as Nectar made it easier for me.I highly recommend using this venue.

All I can say is WOW! I rented the facility for my graduation party and let me tell you that this place exceeded my expectations. The venue itself was beautiful decorated and very inviting. The food was phenomenal. The guests I invited, kept complimenting on the food. Steven, the chef did such a great job. Estelle, the bar hostess was so sweet and very professional. Katie and Shelby, with whom I coordinated with were very helpful. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a spectacular venue.

We used Nectar’s offsite bartending. They provide wine and beer only, which was a perfect match for our venue. They were really flexible with the payment option, doing a custom mix of drinks put on a tab they billed me for after the event. They were also willing to acquire specialty drinks not in their usual stock. Such an easy hassle free experience!

Nectar catered our wedding at the beginning of September and I have to say that the owner and the chef are AMAZING. There were definitely some great pros and some cons throughout our planning process with Nectar. Starting with the pros, 1.) the owner (Josh) is one of the nicest and friendliest people that I’ve had the pleasure of speaking with. 2.) the chef makes not only amazing food, but wonderful conversation. The two of them together clearly make a fantastic team. They set up very quickly and asked very little to no questions on the day of the wedding. Their style is very smooth and professional and they also were early to our event and set up very quietly as our ceremony was less than 100 feet away and we didn’t hear them at all. Now, on to the cons. We had a cash bar and our bartender was not only cold and on her phone the entire time, she came off very rude when we tried to talk with her. She clearly did not want to be there. Aside from Josh, the rest of the team is very hard to get a hold of during the week when you’re trying to plan the catering itself. We understand that wedding season is clearly wedding season and a very busy time for catering, however, it’s very stressful when the assistant they have directs everything to the owners and can’t answer questions over the phone. Overall, great food and company between Josh and the chef. Pro tip: the chef’s food is so good that if there’s leftovers you’ll want to make sure you have some Tupperware to take it home.
