We were a little underwhelmed. Being that there were only three parties in the entire restaurant late in the evening you would think that Service would be quick. After what seemed like an eternity, 30 minutes later, our food did arrive. The food was fresh, but the Service was very mediocre. Very slow service, I’m not sure that we would come back, only because I’d hate to see what it’s like when it’s busy.
Not up to their usual standards. Brought the wrong beer. Ordered black beans instead of refried, but still got refried. We both ordered (different) chicken dishes, both of which should have been mild. The chicken in both dishes was over spiced, to the point I couldn't finish it.
This WAS our go to Mexican restaurant on the South hill, but it's probably time we checked out some others

We love coming here The service, food & drinks are always good. We come in about twice a month and Jose (the owner remembers us). If your new to hill and not sure which Mexican Restaurant to try you can go wrong with Rancho Viejo
