First time here. The place was packed but we got lucky to get in pretty quickly. Cocktails menu is great. I had 2 different cocktails and they were both delicious. We had several appetizers and rolls. The food was great as well! The server was very friendly and nice! Definitely check out this place!

It was a nice experience. The place was very small though. I would like to have had a better atmosphere but, it was nice to be close to the kitchen or you could see the Masters at work

My friend and I waited for over an hour to get our food, even though the restaurant wasn’t busy. We ordered drinks and appetizers, but the apps never showed up — even after the table next to us got theirs almost immediately.

Our server, Anna C, was not very attentive. When we asked about the appetizers, she said she needed to check her notes as she must have written something, but by that point, we got our food and cancelled the apps. When our food finally arrived, it tasted like it had been sitting out for a while — definitely not fresh. I have never not left a tip but this was one of those time that I left nothing as the service was awful.

What made it more frustrating was watching other tables get served in a fraction of the time. Two tables seated after us got their meals in 15 minutes. We felt ignored, and it really impacted the entire experience. It just was disappointing all around.

Absolutely exceptional meal, my father, brother, and I were blown away with the quality of the food. I will definitely make sure Umi is in the rotation for regular dining out in Spokane.

Where do I even start…. We are long time Umi fans and have been going since they opened. However, every time I’m left disappointed with service or something weird with the food. But this last time really bothered me. For what it’s worth, our sushi was fine, this was about the cooked chicken and service. First we were told the wait for 20 minutes and it ended up being 45. Annoying yes, but I get things happen. Secondly, we only saw our server twice in over an hour… once when he took the order and secondly when he brought my ran CC (I had to ask someone else for the bill). They were clearly short staffed and over worked. But the thing that really bugs me is that it was dark when we got our chicken appetizer and I thought it was just super fatty and tough but when I shined a light on it, it was not fully cooked and cool. I showed someone and they took half of the appetizer off. Look I’m not trying to be picky but it’s annoying that we’ve spent hundreds here in sushi over the years, the service was awful, the chicken undercooked and it felt ridiculous they only took half off for the previous raw chicken we already ate. Really frustrated and so disappointed.

It’s hard to see because I had to use flash on my phone but you couldn’t rip the chicken apart in the center and it was pink.

The food was amazing! Liz was our server and she was the sweetest! Excellent service and great vibes! I would recommend visiting, and I will be going again soon!
