Umi North Kitchen and Sushi Bar

I am so glad that this place has continued to be a sushi restaurant after Wasabi who had pretty much ran it down with bad ownership. This is the best and closest place for me to get my sushi fix. Everything is delicious and fresh! I love getting a bottle of cloudy sake to go with my raw protein. Pop in early so that service is quick and the place is quite. Even when I have friends and family that want to go in the later hours I would never turn it down. It's so good that I would have posted pictures but I ate it too fast. ?

Was here to visit friends. First timer at this place, and it was great!

I recommend all the rolls I ordered.

The godzilla, spokane, tiger, rainbow. The UFO roll was the absolute best!

Not from Spokane, but I highly recommend this place if you're a local or just visiting.

I came in last night for dinner with my son and nephew (who loves sushi more than anything) It was our first time here and we will definitely come back very soon. Our server; Sarah R, was excellent and attentive. Our food arrived quickly even though the restaurant was starting to get busy.

Umi is consistently very subpar, especially their sushi. Always using old ingredients; can’t make your food right. Roll had baked salmon—they gave me half raw.

I’m visiting Spokane and if I was to base my experience on this restaurant it would be HORRIBLE!! I have never experienced so much disregard in my life I’m no sure if it’s because I don’t looking like 95% of the people that come into this establishment but tonight( 10/17/24) was horrible.. we walked in it took 5 mins for someone to greet us note we were the only people who was waiting and they weren’t busy! Finally we are sat another 5 mins go by and the server I hate I don’t remember her name came over to take our drink orders, bring our drinks and leave… 5,10, even 15 mins go by at this point we’re looking online for other places because it didn’t seem like we were going to get served. Another waitress comes over and states that she’s going to “help” our server which after we placed our orders our server never came back over or even looked our way! There were other parties that came into the restaurant they were greeted at least 2 seconds after they stepped through the door sat and asked did they need any recommendations or wanted an appetizers, but of course they didn’t look like us! Long story I have NEVER EXPERIENCED RACISM LIKE I DID TONIGHT!! The food was trash we ordered the teriyaki salmon Bento box super flavorless!! And the baked lobster roll add real crab and cream cheese and omg it was mostly cream cheese and a pinch of real crabmeat.. just overall it was an horrible experience we left out of there after spending 118 dollars (98 for the bill and 20 for a tip for the waitress that did help us) hungry and just bluntly disrespected! Why didn’t our server want to help us but was delighted to help people that looked like her.. Were we not a priority of hers? Very disgusting behavior!! Definitely won’t be back and would like to be contacted by the owner of this establishment to resolve this issue!!

Hands down some of the best Sushi I have ever eaten !! Try the Lion king roll it won’t disappoint. I’ll be back for sure, very friendly service too . The place needs some updating but the food is amazing !

Gave me the runs. The sushi was very saucy. I dont even know what the deep fried things were on the deep friend california roll but looked and felt like they were in a plastic tube. Id thought a deep fried calfornia roll would be that the whole roll was deep fried. Nope just these weird things on top of them sere

The seafood udon noodles are a must. Sushi is always ?. The chefs' special pork ribs were juicy, tender, and flavorful. Overall, it is always a pleasant experience.

We love Umi… we go whenever we can and will continue to do so, however- this last time we thought we would try the baked lobster roll($32) as we are big lobster fans… well the “char” on the lobster was taken too far, it was super black and tasted so burnt we just picked the lobster off, threw it away(ugh) and ate the roll.
Hopefully just an oopsy, as we are not so easily scared off and will be back again, but we were sure disappointed!
