Umi North Kitchen and Sushi Bar

I love Umi North. It's a shame that when I went in today, I waited for 5 minutes for someone to greet me. The restaurant was empty of customers. Two employees looked my way and did nothing. I ended up leaving, disappointed.

My husband and I do enjoy this restaurant, the food is fresh, hot and tasty. We appreciate that, however the last time we were there we found the cleanliness of the restaurant disappointing. The floors we sticky as well as the menus. There was obvious signs of food stuck on the backs of chairs. It's important to have good food, but to me the attention to all details are also extremely important!
Service was attentive that was nice.

Great food for the most part. Service is horrible. Nobody smiles there.
The waiters and waitresses are very uneducated when it comes to what fish they have on hand and what they don’t.

Me and my friends would like to say thank you to Abby and Diago for helping us today! The waiter Diago was amazing and Abby seated us and did amazing. Helped me and my friends how to use shop sticks cause we were struggling. Thank you to you 2!! We will all be coming back for sure

Today I went in and was shocked when my order went up in price due to paying in cash. They round up because they don't have change is the excuse that was given.

Sushi was good. The pumpkin one was hard to split if you are trying to get different rolls to split. But staff were nice and wasnt badly priced.

I went in the other day with a friend and although the food was good, service was not great. We were seated quickly but after that it took forever for someone to come take our order and we didn't get water until I asked while we were ordering. The food came out quick thanks to the sushi chefs, but we were never checked on and no refills were ever offered. I would chalk this up to a busier night except for it took our server no time to pick up the check.

I'm not sure if it was because my friend and I were younger and dressed in street clothes, but I work in the industry and always treat people the same no matter what they look like or what I think they might tip me, so it was a bit disappointing. I hope it was an off night, because the sushi was yummy, the salmon being especially fresh.

Very attentive staff, manager was phenomenal (pretty sure her name was Sarah) everyone looked happy to be working there, no weird vibes at all. Food of course was amazing, very fresh, presentation was beautiful as well. Parking was tight but that's not their fault, just an FYI. Absolutely would go there again, easier than getting out to Kendal Yards for the home location.
