Sweet people, great smelling food.
A small group of us drove over an hour to the Silver Dollar Cafe only to be greeted by a sign on the door saying "Sorry, we're closed." They weren't closed when I called last week to inquire about indoor dining. There was no information concerning this closure on their web site or on their Facebook page (which is NOT kept current). This place is not reliable concerning hours of operation. Don't waste your time going there.
Lots of good food, check out the daily dessert specials
Great people good service
Best burger this side of highway 240!
Like the hash brown there not burn t
Very friendly silver dollar burger was excellent! Tried to stop by for lunch the next day but was closed. No explanation.
It was such a special treat to stop here unexpectedly! When I was about 3-4 years old I lived just down the road from here. It was much smaller then but other than it being a little bigger it was exactly like I remember. Brought back so many memories. This place is definitely a landmark. I wish we would've had time to order from the restaurant. The food looked delicious and smelled so good! If I get a chance to go that way again I will be stopping there for sure!
I only give 5 stars because I was the little girl, who lived in the cottage behind the silver doller from when my grandpa (previous owner Richard Prigmore) bought the business in 92 shortly after I was born. I have so many fond memories of roaming out in the weeds, picking up pieces of petrified wood and other random things i could find. Surrounded by the environment and tons of animals i always felt at peace there. It was my home. Some people may even remember seeing a little girl riding her tricycle around the red booth area inside the establishment as well as around it.. that was me. My grandpa would always tell me " when I die, all of this is going to you". I would imagine myself being behind the grill as he was, cooking and serving back and forth. Everytime i make burgers i think of him. When he got into the car wreck that eventually took his life, nothing was the same. Some things are nostalgic and for some people keeping things the same is a MUST,which is why I'm so happy to see that the petrified wood entrance is still there (last time I checked). The whole place burned while that remained and I can't help, but feel like it was ment to stay there... for me. I will always love this place and the memories it's given me. However,I can't bring myself to even go inside without crying. It's too different for my heart to take. If anyone remembers anything positive about the place when Richard was running it (granted I know he was a very stubborn and at times a rude old man) I would be so happy to hear your stories. All of my childhood belongings burned in the fire that took the original cafe that spread to the mobile home where he lived (where my stuff was) and the white cottage where my mother and I lived.
Drove all the way from Tri-Cities. Lady said they close at 5:30. Came slightly after 5 and she said she shuts the grill off at 5 because “everyone knows that.” There was literally nothing inside of the place too. Why would you even stay open then? Done buying food from your trailer at Hanford too. I attempted to support local during the hard times and you were rude and unfriendly.
Very nice breakfast. I was definitely happy with my breakfast and will be back
Great spot to stop and have a beer and a cheeseburger!
