We’ve previously visited Agate and we had a good experience. However the second time going, the service was terrible, especially with foreigners. Tall, cocky waitress is absolutely incapable of engaging with other cultures (mind I’m American, my guests came to visit). The staff needs to get together and tighten up on customer service, kindness and to better embrace the essence of Bainbridge which prides itself on openness. Honestly so disappointed. The food was not on par with last time, long waits, bland. The appetizers were excellent though. Biggest issue? The service. I don’t know if it was just our server, but that tall, young waitress (who walks like she has a broomstick for a spine) needs a serious attitude check. acting like you’re doing us a favor isn’t exactly “tip-worthy” material.

I had a wonderful time celebrating my birthday dinner at Agate with my family! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was top-notch.
We enjoyed the Salmon Pâté, Steak with Hollandaise Sauce, Agate Burger, Macrina Giuseppe with Whipped Butter, Olive Tapenade, Bucatinni with Tomato Sauce.
, which were cooked to perfection, and everyone left satisfied.
The staff was attentive and friendly, and they made sure we had everything we needed. The restaurant was clean and well-maintained, and the overall experience was very enjoyable.
I would definitely recommend Agate for a birthday dinner or any special occasion. It's a great place to gather with family and friends and enjoy a delicious meal.

We didn’t enjoy eating here for our anniversary. We have celebrated at Agate in the past but this time, the staff were seemingly stretched thin and we felt like we were an inconvenience more than anything. We agreed to sit at the bar because the table we reserved wasn’t open yet. I wish we had just waited for the table. Our server was kind but not attentive. Everything took too long. There was a leak from the ceiling right next to me and it was dripping/splashing me and my purse. So much for a romantic dinner ?

One of the best restaurants on Bainbridge Island. The food is yummy. The cocktails are well-crafted and with a generous pour. The wine list is highly curated and has a good balance of reasonably priced selections and some high end choices. The service is always attentive and very customer friendly. I highly recommend this place!!!!

My friend and I worked setting up a wedding and then we went to Agate Restaurant to celebrate a successful day of floraling. The food, service, and atmosphere was on point and was the perfect way to end a busy day. The arugula salad was delicious and the chocolate bonbon dessert was spectacular. I would definitely recommend his restaurant to foodies and folks that want a dinner experience that is welcoming, warming, and joyful.

Came back to Bainbridge to celebrate our 26th anniversary. Agate was the perfect place to do so. Atmosphere was warm and relaxing. Staff was engaged and helpful with food and drink choices. Food was wonderful and desert finished it nicely.

I had a wonderful late-night dessert experience at Agate Restaurant, thanks to the exceptional service provided by Yolanda. Despite our late arrival, she was incredibly patient and kind throughout our visit. She recommended the most delightful choices - the pudino and cheesecake - which turned out to be among the best desserts I’ve ever had.
