What a gem in our little community! I wasn't even aware that the Nomad kitchen existed until an out-of-towner was singing its praises to me. I promptly scheduled reservations, and the experience was fabulous! The atmosphere was friendly and great. We arrived earlier than our reservations, and it was no problem. We could see the chef cooking from where we were seated. We tried the chef's choice menu, and it was fun! We tasted things we never thought we would try. Most of the ingredients were sourced from local businesses, which is fabulous! He even offers wild game dishes like elk steak and pheasant sausage fettuccini! You can see a small garden area in the back of the shop where fresh herbs are grown. Our server was amazing and friendly, and referred to us as friends. She was amazing! I highly recommend this restaurant. It is more spendy than most restaurants around, but you get something no one else (in my opinion) in our valley has to offer and is well worth it!. I also loved the "family style" sharing dishes. We will be back soon to check out the lunch menu!

The service was great. The food, not so much. The bread starter with Cougar Gold cheese, a fig type compote and prosciutto was lovely as was the mixed greens salad with apricot and cherries. It would have great to have the bread cut all of the way through so we didn't have to man-handle it to get a piece. Couldn't really taste much other than the vinaigrette they used on the greens on the salad. Then ordered the steak with the cheese butter and mashed potatoes. Presentation was nice and the flavors were good but the temperature was horrible. Two of us had it and it was the same for both of us so it wasn't a one off. Very nearly room temperature food even as we were told we were waiting because the kitchen was so busy. Difficult to be generous as to call it luke warm. Very disappointing. The steak was perfectly cooked and tender but damn. Barely warm food? Really? Another person had the red fish and it apparently smelled/tasted fishy and was absolutely horrible. And again, barely warm. Apparently the pork belly dish was a bit warmer and the noodles had a good flavor although they were a little too Al dente. Just a little stiff-maybe needed a minute or two more being cooked. For the prices they charge, they really need to step up their game and start paying attention to serving hot food hot. I really wanted to love this place but they just didn't pull off the vibe they were trying for.
