By happenstance my wife and I found The Vine on a trip to Walla Walla. The atmosphere was fantastic and equally so was the food as well as service. Every course was delicious and plated with care and attention to detail. The service was friendly and high quality as well. On our next trip to this area it will be a destination rather than a pleasant chance encounter.
The night started out great with the exception that there wasn't any signage indicating The Vine restaurant on the entrance. We were seated quickly and had a great view of the hillside. When asked about drinks, we were told that the drink menu was sizable and really weren't allowed to look at it. The wait staff recommend some ciders since my wife doesn't really like wine, which worked out, but they never really came back to me to ask, so I had cider too. I asked about wine pairing for the dinner, and the response I got was that they hadn't had that in years, and it felt like I should have known all along. We got the first course, which was a melon dish with balsamic vinegar reduction and goat cheese. It was delicious and unexpected. This was the only course that the item was explained, like most tastings. The next course was a delicious soup that made you wanting more, and we hated the plating because it had ridges that made it hard to get every ounce of the soup. The third course was a choice, which I picked the tuna and my wife had the prosciutto wrapped beans. Both were tasty. The palet cleansing was refreshing. The main course was good fit the most part, but I feel my tenderloin was cooked past medium rare and the vegetables were missing salt. My wife had the halibut pasta, which she liked. This is where it fell apart for me. After an ok main dish, we waited 15-20 minutes before my cheese and fruit plate, and my wife dessert came out. The entire time, the other wait staff were chatting with their table, and we were practically left alone most of dinner. The dessert was good, but the cheese plate had only 1 type of cheese(unknown type as it was never communicated to us). Two cheap crackers and trail mix you can find at safeway. No fresh fruit, no variations of cheese and no presentation. Looked like it was all just thrown on the plate. It was so disappointing. We felt shooed away at the end. For the money, it was not worth the trip for us.

This was our first time doing a tasting menu. I thought it might feel a little stuffy, but our waitress was fun and welcoming. All of the food was stunning and delicious. We had a great time and plan to return!

I have eaten here several times and it was always great. However, the chef they have now is amazing!!! All of the dinner, Dessert & breakfast was out of this world. Can't wait for another special dinner in November.

Exceptional cuisine, top-notch presentation, knowledgeable waitstaff and spectacular location! While you may think it “pricey,” you'll not be disappointed with this singular experience. Kudos to their chef and wine cellar!
Such a wonderful experience. It is a must try!

We had the 7 course tasting menu. Each dish was prepared with care , creativity, and used the freshest ingredients. From the first bite to the last, everything was outstanding! We dined here for 3 dinners and 3 breakfasts. Each meal was an adventure. We looked forward to each experience. Thank you Chef and staff!
Nice place & reasonably priced as far as tasting menus go. Enjoyed the plating, service, and high volume of wine options. Had some very brine-y oysters, and I think the dishes could benefit from more texture, but overall a great experience.

Jose is an excellent chef! The food was tasty and unique. For food and wine list, I'd come back again and recommend. As you have many great choices in this area, for a special occasion, this place stands out.
We enjoyed our experience at The Vine. The food was excellent—fresh, tasty, prepared within site of our table. The ambience was relaxing. The canned music was relaxing in volume and style. The view out the windows was pleasant.
This restaurant wants to present itself as fine dining but is lacking in service. The atmosphere is great. The food is fine. The wine list is unexciting and tired. They will sell you Kirkland (from Costco- yes, that Kirkland) wine for $30/bottle.The service is mediocre at best. The server working was nice, but seemed frazzled and inexperienced. They left us waiting to check in for 10 minutes. I thought I was in the wrong place at first as the front room is not the main dining area and there is no hostess. We never received bread despite our server repeatedly stating she'd be right back with it. She forgot one of our courses and I had to ask for it. We were celebrating my husband's birthday and our server looked at the full grown man and asked "what about you, birthday boy?" when taking our order, likening the experience to a Chuck E Cheese. This restaurant wants to be "fine dining" and it looks the part but it doesn't walk the walk. As someone who has managed front and back of house, I think management should invest more time in training and educating employees on service. At one point, our server was breaking down tables and setting up for the next day. It took so long to get through dinner and we missed two portions of the meal (bread + missing course) so timing was definitely off. If you want to get out early and set up for the next day, focus on getting guests out, rather than setting up linens. Tying this back to service and atmosphere, it was very reminiscent of witnessing a shift change at Shari's diner. As we were finishing our meal, another couple was seated in the dining room. They asked our server to bring them a nice bottle of wine (I guess they didn't want to look at the wine list?) Our server brought them the same bottle we ordered- which was a decent enough bottle given the selection. She announced loudly to us that she didn't bother checking with them and brought out the one that we ordered and thanked us for the idea. I hope the other couple was happy with her choice but from that moment, all trust and rapport is lost between guest and server. For $100+ person plus an added 20% gratuity, I expected more decorum from the staff.

We've dined here 3-4 times, while staying in a room at Cameo or just driving in for dinner. I've seen the restaurant go though several chefs during that time, and the B&B change ownership. My recent experience was likely influenced by the holiday, as this is second year in a row I've chosen the Vine as our destination for Valentine's Day. There is nothing comparable in the Tri-Cities area, both lodging and dining, and it's still a multiple course meal with a few different selections for main courses. The menu changes frequently and sometimes you can get a preview online, but be prepared to discover new items when you are seated. The combination of ingredients in the dishes this time was creative but not weird, and the portion sizes were just right (with the exception of my tomahawk steak which was enormous!) Over the years it has changed from an evening where the chef would personally deliver dishes to the table and explain the ingredients, to a packed house on a very busy holiday. Overall, the food is still 5 star quality, although there were some service issues arising from a young staff. The owner was very present throughout the evening, and vigilantly focused on fixing the issue with our meal. It's a good sign they are so busy and focused on long term satisfaction. I will definitely return as it's a slightly new experience every time and the property is beautiful.

The setting was amazing and professional. The server was prompt, on time, very cordial, friendly. It was entertaining to see the kitchen work our food. We loved our experience. She had the salmon, I had the steak.
