Clam chowder was wimpy, mediocre, and my wife had fried oysters that were prepared and served strange with a stange appearance and flavor. I had salmon that was served on lentils with green something under it. One glass of wine and a root beer and poor service with a great view. $138.00. We will never eat here again. Nice place to stay, though. Very disappointed.

This is based on take out - The customer service was great and it’s a neat resort however the portion size and the flavor of the food was so so at best. Unfortunately there was a lot left to be desired and after spending $240 we were surprised. To be clear this also has nothing to do with temp or presentation of food since this is take out.The duck was pretty fatty making it hard to chew, the lettuce for the Caesar salad was wilted and pretty brown (actually surprised they sent this out with our food based on the professionalism of the restaurant), the chicken was super small and pretty dry. The creme brûlée was gritty and watery on the bottom. It had really good flavor but was definitely cooked incorrectly. The best tasting item was our kid’s filet dinner which was fantastic. Super disappointed as we’ve gone elsewhere and spent more for better portion size and incredible flavor. Maybe it was an off night but just not worth the cost if that’s the case

Not only did I have a delicious meal of crab fettuccine and brussel sprouts but I left my credit card there on the table or somewhere it fell out on the property and they saved it for me in their safe. "Paddy" was a great waiter.

Overall experience was great. But we gave 5 stars because they offer a full suite of non alcoholic drinks on the menu (beer, bubbly, cocktails and wine). They obviously put a lot of thought into their N.A. options. It's also the first restaurant that we've dined at that offers a N.A. wine (and a good one).

Beautiful view. The food was excellent-King Salmon and Caesar Salad. The creme brulee was delicious. The service was excellent and the food was served in a timely manner. A very special place to enjoy a meal.

Y'all. Here you are, in Union WA, unincorporated Mason County with population 700... how good can the food be? Having dined my way through NYC, SF, and Seattle (where I now live), and now as a father who has suffered all too many overpriced resort restaurants with my young children, I am here to attest that the Restaurant at Alderbrook is AWESOME, and stands head-and-shoulders above similar "resort restaurants" anywhere else. The seafood is as fresh as they come—this is real-deal farm-to-table (canal-to-table?)—and Chef Sara Harvey does some amazing work crafting dishes that are beautifully balanced and that bring out the very best in her ingredients. Everything is super fresh, and the seafood is simply to die for. The restaurant is beautiful and classy, yet the vacationing clientele and the unpretentious service all allow you to enjoy a relaxed, family-friendly dining experience that is a perfect match to its parent resort. Be sure to book a dinner reservation here; and then, the following morning, drive up the highway to its sister outpost, Hook & Fork (also featuring Chef Sara Harvey and owned by Alderbrook) for a super casual and fun outdoor-only waterside dining experience that perfectly complements this one!

Our experience for our anniversary was wonderful. We arrived 20 min before our scheduled time and were seated right away. Food took quite a long time to arrive. It wasn't busy when we first arrived, but within 30 min it was hopping which would have explained the delay in the food.

We are vegetarians and don’t eat meat so we had limited options on the menu. We ordered the beets salad and the forager pasta which was a cheese sauce pasta with mushroom and spinach. The beets salad was good and the cocktails were amazing. I would recommend the pear walnut daiquiri. The pasta was too oily and a bit heavy for us. But overall, the service was great. They split our dishes into two and served us since we were sharing which was amazing. They also let us sit even after the restaurant was closed and let us enjoy our meal at peace.

The food was not as good as it's been in the past. Must be a new chef - very different than the past couple years. We probably eat there 3 or 4 times a year. It's such a great relaxing & beautiful place!!

Service was excellent, which made me hesitant to leave a middling review. They seated us early, were very attentive, and divided our salad and entree for us since we were sharing. Alas the food was overpriced and uninteresting, and the smell of the bathrooms permeated the entrance and the front half of the dining area.As others noted, tip is automatically included at the end.

We had a interesting dinner I had undercooked salmon and filet mignon..: we ordered a meat and cheese platter for an appetizer that looked like something. My three-year-old could've slept together. On a good note, the restaurant was beautiful. The views were amazing. The servers were friendly and accommodating. filet mignon

When we arrived there were only 2 tables taken in the entire dining room and we were seated behind one of the two posts with an obscured view. They did move us upon request but said we couldn't sit closer to the windows as some of those tables were already requested and yet we sat there for 35-45 mins before those tables were seated. Our server didn't come to our table to take our drink order for at least 15 mins. He attended other tables but not ours. He wore rubber gloves which was off putting as we saw him touching all manner of items and then handled the straw rapper on my front and removed it after touching many other things. Food was good. We enjoyed the ambiance but when I went to pay the bill, I handed him my credit card with my female name on it and when he brought it back for signature he handed it to my husband. Seemed weird.

Special birthday celebration for my 88 year old mother who rarely gets out. Wheelchair accessible. View of the water lovely, even on a very rainy day. A cute scoop of ice cream with sprinkles and a candle. Staff were extra attentive.
