Generous portions, strong menu and mostly quick service. This place is an old school diner. Think 70s to 90s decor. Lots of locals and moderately busy on an off season Thursday AM. The dated interior could be considered charming by some. Can’t rationalize 5 stars though. Fair value. Overall it’s a totally decent place but not quite special.

I was so excited when my husband called to say o turkey sandwiches were back on the menu. So he brought me a takeout. Small portions but thr real problem was the gravy. Not turkey. I decided they may have used the biscuit gravy but it was an awful combo. I thought maybe some bacon in it? VERY DISAPPOINTED.

We absolutely enjoy each time we’ve eaten at Clarette’s over the last year. We really like being able to order breakfast anytime of the day, the clam chowder and fish dinner are another highlight meal we enjoy. The service is always superb and very welcoming.

I was looking for a nice sit down restaurant to eat at before leaving town for a 6 hour drive home. I picked Clarettes off google map and am glad I did. I was seated right away and my order was taken soon after. The serve all day breakfast a pleasant surprise. Delilah was my server. A perfect old school waitress. Two thumbs up. I had breakfast as pictured. Everything was cooked exquisitely and to perfection. Clarette's is a rarity in this quick paced world of fast food mentality. Food was delicious! I got the French toast, which was the best French toast I've ever had. My husband got a meat omelet and really enjoyed it.
I ordered my eggs over easy because I like to dip my toast in the runny yoke. Unfortunately, my eggs came over hard with no runny yokes. I never got a chance to address the issue, because our server, Megan, abandoned us a few minutes into the meal. Dropping off the ticket and telling us she’s leaving. Not even a coffee refill. I had to go ask the hostess to refill my coffee

The place looks beautiful! I was so excited to eat here because I grew up in walla walla and hadn’t been here since I was a kid. I was very disappointed in the level of service received especially for the price we ended up paying for everything. Our food came out wrong. Our server never checked on us or asked us how everything was. She just dropped off the check and said “I’m taking off, you can pay at the front when you’re ready” we had to go to the host stand to ask for a refill on our coffee and it just felt like they didn’t even care for us. They just wanted our money.
This is the reason people don’t like to tip anymore. This is the problem with the service industry. I’ve worked it for years and cannot believe how hard people make the easiest things like just being present and having a good attitude. We expect to receive actual service. We don’t want to pay for people to just stick their thumb up their rear and ignore us the entire time. This was my first time here in 15 years. I will never be returning again after this.
Tommy’s Dutch lunch is way better. We only came here because they were closed.
