After several years of visits, Long Shadows is no longer on our Walla Walla must-visit list. This review is for the July 2025 visit by us three - one of whom was a first-time visitor.

Three elements contribute to the experience: the wine, the ambiance, and the people (staff). The quality of the staff has dropped considerably.

WINE: 4.0. Long Shadows wines are consistently and solidly satisfying.

AMBIANCE: 4.0. Nice facility set in wheatfields, with attractive south-facing views. Inside and outside seating.

SERVICE: 2.0. The quality of the college student summer staff we encountered during our Jul 2025 visit was considerably lower than in past years, deeply undermining the entire experience. They appeared to dislike both their work and their customers. Superficiously nice when we arrived, but then becoming defensive and scowly. Moreover, as I was waiting outside for my partners, the outdoor staff were grumbling among themselves about the day's various customers, and about the need to clean up before leaving work.

Excellent and informative tasting.

Longshadows is always excellent but today's tasting went over the top. We got to meet Eric, wine guy extraordinaire! Over the top knowledge of wines, stem ware (why it matters), production and what varietal labels mean...really. if you know nothing or a lot about wine, Eric is the master. Thank you! Side note, a praying mantis had a little too much to drink...

A wonderful wine tasting experience! Amazing wine, beautiful surroundings, and a great introduction to the Walla Walla wine region. Thanks so much to our fabulous host, Taylor! The charcuterie board was the best!

Eric was overbearing, too long, wine was not good. I mistakenly decided to buy bottle of best cab they offer to avoid $30 wine tasting. Big mistake. Cost was $100 before tax. Should have paid for wine tasting. Friends went to another wine tasting..they said was way better. Skip this one.

Wonderful wine and service! The merlot pairs perfectly with chocolate. Came for Christmas gifts, but will definitely be back for me!

I liked the experience of the tour, but then after the tasting was over my boyfriend and I said we would each split the bill and he would buy two bottles and I would buy two bottles. The server assumed my boyfriend was paying for the tasting and charged him , so I told her I was paying for it. She didn’t give me the discount that comes out of the tasting when you buy 2 bottles. She then put a tip on my boyfriends tab when all he was doing was buying bottles and not paying for the tasting, which means she ended up getting a 30% tip on the wine and the tour. Absolutely ridiculous, we could have gotten those 4 bottles of wine at Wine and More for a little over $200 bucks, but because of this server who took advantage of us we ended up spending $500 for the same wine. Much more honest and better tasting rooms, I say avoid or watch out when going to pay!

They do not have their own vineyard but source WA state grapes from others, across the Columbia Valley. They partner with best-in class wine makers from across the world to make their wines. We enjoyed their wines despite the lack of vineyard ambience.

We have visited wineries all over the Pacific Northwest and not only is this wine amazing, our experience in the tasting room on July 12 was not only professional and informative, but the young woman (I believe her name is Shea) was delightful. Her background stories of the poetic wine names and the winemakers involved in each wine were told with evident pride. This tasting was like going to a play and watching a plot develop. Bravo to Long Shadow with regard to its wine and its employee.

This was the star of our weekend tasting in Walla Walla. I wish i remembered the name of the gentleman who served us. He made the experience for me, extremely knowledgeable, and very charismatic. Changed the way I think about blends. The wines are of course incredible, the reds especially, very balanced, and distinct from one another. Great views, window into the production facility from the tasting room, they do it all here. Thanks to the team

Long shadows wine quality is amazing! Been coming here for a long time but hadn't been in awhile. Quality hasn't changed and it is still fabulous.
