The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere and is well staffed. We had reservations and were seated immediately. We started with focaccia bread and olive oil with crushed garlic - very nice, light and tasty. We ordered the bolognese conchiglie and the alla gricia. Both were served piping hot and very well plated. The portions were generous and extremely well prepared. We both had dessert (sublime) and a cappuccino and a cafe americano, so very flavorful. The service was superb; attentive but not annoying. The price was less than the meal deserved. All in all this is the best Italian food we've had in Washington, maybe since we left Europe!
This was a long time coming for us as this place's reputation preceded our visit by a few years. We even changed our travel plans to Walla Walla to accommodate their hours (open Thursdays, not Wednesdays), and we were not disappointed. First, a reservation is important, maybe even a must, unless you have times early or late. Second, plan to arrive a bit early for a drink at the bar--would recommend splurging on one of their incredible cocktails. Dinner was made with same-day fresh pasta (bucatini on the day we visited), which we shared along with a great Caesar salad. We each enjoyed our own affogato, with housemade gelato and the perfect ending to a lovely meal in a great setting!
Wonderful meal. This restaurant is mostly about pasta and pizza. We had both and they were exceptional. Also had two great salads. A great bar and a good wine selection. Service was also great. Prices were great for what we had.
No one bothered to greet us for over 5 minutes. Then another 5 to be seated. Not a great beginning to our experience. Food okay. Refill on wine slow.
We loved sharing a meal with sitting outside. The food was tremendous. We had salads, pizza, pasta and fresh baked focaccia - our group shared bites and everyone was delighted. Tremendous drink menu - loved the Tuscan Sun and Margaritas. We'll be back.
This restaurant came highly rated and it did not disappoint. We all shared a Pizza to start off with and each of us had different pasta dishes, all delicious. Service was great and very friendly.
What a disappointment! We visited Walla Walla wanting to take time out for a restful 4th of July holiday. We made reservations at Passa Tempo in advance securing a spot at this popular restaurant. Our server upon approaching the table announced they were out of all meat and pizzas. We specifically went there for their Tomahawk steak- so this news was not well received. There were serval pasta dishes and a few appetizers left to chose from on the menu. We ordered the Cacio e Pepe- which translated to pasta with butter and Parmesan. No pepper- no pecorino cheese- no flavor. Horrible We had the Amatriciana which rather than toasted guanciale- it was a soggy shaved pancetta- not acceptable. We tried the stuffed shells- I tried one and left it on my plate. It tasted like truffle flavored baby food in hard uncooked shells. The one semi redeeming thing was the prawn cocktail. While the sauce was flavorful the prawns were extremely overcooked. I think the icing on the top of this unfortunate cake was the pantry guy who dropped a bunch of herbs on the floor- promptly picked them up and placed them on the dish he was preparing. Wow- really? I honestly can’t believe the level of food quality here. No authenticity in regards to Italian cuisine. This is a definite “don’t waste your time or money”.

Great food! My friends & I ate here during our visit to Walla Walla. We loved the food here but the reason I’m not giving it a 5 was our seating situation. Didn’t like where we were seated. We were on the back side of the main dining/bar area. It feels a bit cut off and we felt a little ignored. If you go here ask for the bar side or the patio. We shared a few items: the focaccia, the Aglio e olio, & the bolognese. We all absolutely loved the olio!! The pasta was so fresh - a simple but amazing dish! We would recommend that to everyone. Our server seemed a little ‘ green’ which isn’t a problem but she seemed a bit overwhelmed. I’d try this place again if I’m ever back in town.
I’ve been once and still keep thinking about the fabulous pizza and the pasta carbonara……the cocktails could be served at any upscale establishment in the world!❤️

What a fabulous restaurant! From the service to the dessert everything was wonderful! Our waitress was engaging and so helpful choosing our meals! The cocktails were delicious, entrees superb and the Tiramisu was phenomenal!
This place assumed the location of a Walla Walla landmark—the Pastime Cafe. At the Pastime, you received large portions of genuine Italian lasagne or spagetti and meat balls at a family friendly price. Here, snooty staff offered up small portions of uncomfortable food at ridiculous prices.
Passatempo had been mentioned by several locals including several in the wine business who were clearly foodies. We didn’t initially plan to visit because we felt like something other than Italian. Fate intervened and we found ourselves there anyway. We got lucky! Since our plans changed last minute, we walked into Passatempo without reservations. The hostess was friendly and arranged for additional seating at the bar for us (the place was packed). The bartender and a waitress took care of us that evening and the bartender had an amazing knowledge of cocktails and spirits, especially Amaros and Fernets, and helped design a custom tasting of Amaros for us. The food was good and we enjoyed our dinner there and the excellent service provided by the bartender! One of two we enjoyed in Walla Walla!
I love this place so much. I traveled home to Walla Walla for years to see parents and family friends, and in recent years found the bar the perfect place to hang out and destress after a long day of parent care. There is no longer the need to destress, but old habits die hard — and in this case will prevail. Thank you Passatempo for a contemporary and much improved throwback to the Pasttime Cafe!
Service wasn’t great. Hostess made us wait 5 minutes for our table when we had made reservations over a month prior to our visit. Table should have been ready right when we arrived. My noodles to my pasta dish was under cooked.Server took her time to greet us. After being sat for 20 minutes we finally received our drinks. Pizza was delicious and the bread was great!
