My group of friends just had dinner here and it was absolutely delicious 😋! So 👍 tasty with big portions. Fries- hand cut and seasoned perfectly. Meat dip with au jus was so good! Wow I wish this place was in my town! Great side salad- great bbq meat sides and everyone loved their meals! Service was fantastic and atmosphere was relaxed and family friendly. These people take pride in their food and we were thrilled to find such a great option- with gluten free and vegetarian choices too! Walla Walla is so lucky! We may be back tomorrow night to try something else! Yummmm!

In my seventy some years I have never been comped a meal but I sure felt like this one should have been. I have been smoking meat for almost 60 years and I have never had a meal this bad. This really surprised my wife and I as The Bonfire got good reviews.
The goal of smoking meat is to add smoke flavor and to break down the connective tissue and collagen so the meat will be very tender. This can only happen by low and slow cooking. I ordered their tri-tip sliders. The meat should just fall apart. This meat was not tender at all. It had been run through a tenderizer as you could see the holes poked in it. I took the first bite and several minutes later I was still chewing it.
When the waitress came by and asked if I liked it, I told her the truth. My wife ordered the Frenchie sandwich and it had a big hunk of gristle in it. A couple minutes later the cook, I assume the proprietor, came out with an obvious attitude. I showed him that you could not rip the tri-tip apart with a fork and knife. He said do you want another one, something else, or your money back? At that point my appetite was gone and, since he offered it, I wanted my money back.
A few minutes later he came back and slapped down a saucer on the table that had 3 pieces of meat on it. He said here try this, it's certainly not tough. It was the same way, you could not tear it apart using a knife and fork. I honestly think he has no idea what he is doing. And if he can't keep his cool when dealing with a little criticism he should probably do something different. When my wife told him about the gristle, as a courtesy, he said “Well, cows produce gristle”.
My wife could only eat half of her sandwich. In the end he took 30% off of my meal.

Our family could not have enjoyed this place more. The food taste, quality & staff made this exceptional. They know how to cook, that’s for sure. We loved the relaxed atmosphere, special treatment & awesomeness. Keep at it! Well come back if we’re in the area for sure.
