We just ate down at the Marc. We have traditionally had our anniversary dinner at the Marc. The food was always great. However, tonight was totally different. We had one of the best waitresses, and the worst steak and potatoes I have been served in a restaurant. I am not sure what has changed, but something has. I ordered a six ounce sirloin, medium rare, and got a chunk of stew meat well done. I will say they made it right by us, but that will be our last visit.

Beautifully ornate decor with diver high ceilings give space elegant old money feeling with well done classic dishes found at restaurant. High end spot for sure.

My 17-year-old son and I had a fantastic dining experience last week at The Marc, in scenic Walla Walla, Washington. We were in town as part of a college visit road trip, and Leena took great care of us throughout our dinner. The cuisine was excellent, and Leena recommended a terrific Syrah from Walla Walla wine country that paired very well with dinner. Leena also offered perspective on Whitman College that we found invaluable. Truly above and beyond, thank you!

Painfully slow- despite being relatively empty at 8am when we arrived took 20+ minutes just to take our order then another 40 minutes for the food. Other tables were seated and served ahead of us and the staff, while pleasant, seemed oblivious to our growing frustration. The food when it arrived was decent but since it took an hour to receive we ate it quickly to make up time for our delayed travel.

First time in Walla Walla. Tried the Marc since we’re staying at the hotel. Sunday evening, and definitely a slow night. Staff were extremely friendly and attentive. I had the half chicken, which was good, but a bit overcooked. Wife had the halibut which was delicious. Waitress apologized for the meal taking so long and gave us a dessert to share. Lemon Chiffon cake with blueberry ice cream was amazing. Prices are on the high side, but what you’d expect.

4 of us had made a 6:30pm reservation for the Restaurant Month menu. It took over an hour for our cocktails to arrive, at around an hour and a half we asked if we could order food. By the time the restaurant was closing at 9pm we had only received our salads. When a guy who said "they should be plating it now" went to check and came back without food, we said we were leaving as it had been 2.5+ hours. We left, went to Passatempo, and had drinks and a pizza within 15 mins.

The smallest salad I have ever paid $18.00 for, $62.00 for a 4oz filet. The smallest dessert I have ever seen, waited for refills that would show up at the 3nd of dinner. We left hungry still and got some fries at McDonalds, smallest and almost $400 for a dinner we left hungry still.

The restaurant is wonderful with an incredible ambiance. The price is well worth it for the service, location, and food quality. I highly recommend it to everyone. It is a very welcoming place with a very chic and elegant atmosphere.

Had a great experience both nights we stayed in the hotel. The first night we had dinner from the restaurant but were able to eat in the bar. The second night we just had some old fashioneds and had a great time visiting with our server Ryland! Thanks Ryland for the great service and conversation!

The service was lovely. So was the ambience. And, the fresh produce shareable were to die for. The restaurant sources it from a local farm called “Frog’s Hollow”. And that alone made the dinner worth it.

The main courses, however, were not as well done. I had the halibut, which was dry. It also had a slight fishy taste. I should know better than to order halibut in a place where it can’t be flown to the same day from AK. However, it also was served with beans, which were badly cooked. They were a mix of overcooked and mushy, yet half of them were mealy and very undercooked. This is a rookie mistake.

The lamb was served with a mustarda - way way way too much. It overpowered it so much that it had to be scraped off. Then, weirdly, they served it with a table pour of lamb jus. Pouring a jus over a mustard sauce is odd. Pick one. Pick the jus. Or dab the mustarda on the side.

The deserts were good. I do get tired of chocolate tyranny in the desert world. I know I’m in the minority. But even the ice cream sandwich had unadvertised chocolate crunchies on it. Like mustard, chocolate overpowers everything. That’s fine for a chocolate desert. But the ice cream sandwich wasn’t that.

I wanted to like this place better.

This is a more expensive fine dining location. The waiter was super friendly and answered all of our questions. I would say the amount of food is smaller than the price point. The food was delish and prepared execellent I do wish there were bigger portions. The waiter suggested wine pairings and helped us celebrate a birthday. I LOVE the farm to table fresh foods so that part of their dining would have us come back again.

Apparently gone are the days where you go out to a “fine dining” restaurant expecting good or even decent service. The food was very good and thus 3 stars when putting it all in perspective.

I’m at a loss to point blame. It’s pretty much the same everywhere we go and try to support these days. It’s no wonder most Americans just eat fast food.

The Marc Restaurant has recently become my favorite place in Walla Walla for breakfast. Their attention to the details in the dining room and at the table is excellent, the staff is attentive without being intrusive and the breakfast menu has lots of options that don't break the budget. I highly recommend.

Wonderful, first-class restaurant! Food and service were all top notch and exceeded our expectations. Seriously consider this at the top of your dining list upon traveling to Walla Walla.
