Akane is the type of resturant that I like to go after a long day of work or just having a meal with friends and family. It's super comfortable and not extra fancy. We always go there at least once a month and always have an amazing experience. Other than ramen they have some of the best rice bowls and karaage.
Highly recommend this place.

Dining in wouldn’t be my first choice, since it’ feels like mostly a takeout venue, but there is seating within. It’s also right beside a few studios and shops, so a great place for a quick sit-down lunch.

We used to be regulars but in the last few years, the broth in both the spicy tan tan and tonkatsu has thinned out, gotten less rich, and less nuanced. The karaage doesn't include a sauce any longer and is also paler and less karaage-like than before. It has also climbed in price.
