WILL NEVER BE GOING HERE AGAIN!

My friend was denied entry on his 21st birthday because of his ID still being vertical. He had his printed out documentation of the horizontal ID through the DMV that was given temporarily for this exact reason. Not only did they ruin my friends birthday, but I actively watched them let in a higher schooler with a fake ID. Ironic right?! By far the worst experience I have ever encountered.

Overall, if you want your 21st birthday to be your last, this is the place to go!!

I had one of the most frustrating experiences at this bar. I showed up with my valid horizontal state-issued ID — the standard form of identification used everywhere once you turn 21. The staff refused to let me in, saying I needed to bring my expired vertical ID as well. That makes absolutely no sense. By law, a horizontal ID is proof that you’re 21+, and an expired ID isn’t valid for anything.

Not only was the policy nonsensical, but the staff were dismissive and rude when I tried to clarify. It felt less like enforcing rules and more like gatekeeping. I’ve never had an issue at any other establishment with my horizontal ID.

If you’re looking for a bar that respects its customers and follows reasonable ID standards, I’d recommend going literally anywhere else.

hands down the worst bar i have ever been to they would not let us in because we are from california and we have vertical ID’s they were so rude and did not want anything to do with us customers were leaving the bar because they had hidden fees no one knew about and the bartenders were tipping 25% on there own without telling the customers if you want people to come back don’t be doing anything shady mind boggling how bad this establishment is

What a joke. My friend got denied on his birthday even though he’s 21, just because his ID was vertical. It’s a valid, legal ID. The staff clearly had no clue what they were doing and ruined our night for no reason. Absolutely embarrassing and unprofessional—never coming back.

Rooney's Bar left an awful taste in our mouths, and not because of the drinks — we never even got that far. We showed up to celebrate my friend's 22nd birthday, just trying to enjoy a few beers with the guys before heading back home after our summer jobs. It was supposed to be a chill, meaningful sendoff — we won't see each other again for eight months.
But Rooney's decided to kill the vibe immediately. They refused to let my friend in — the birthday guy, no less — just because his ID was vertical, despite the fact that it clearly showed he was 22 YEARS OLD. Seriously? It wasn’t expired, it was state-issued, and he’s a full-grown adult. There's a difference between enforcing the law and being rigid to the point of ridiculousness.
We weren’t trying to get rowdy, cause trouble, or anything. We just wanted a couple beers and some good memories before going our separate ways. Instead, we got disrespected, turned away, and left scrambling to find another place that would actually treat adults like adults.
Rooney’s had the chance to be the backdrop to a great memory, and instead they became the reason the night went south. Won’t be coming back — and I’ll be telling others to skip it too.

Stopped in to grab a beer on my 22nd birthday with all my boys. Rejected me at the door because I DIDN’T HAVE A HORIZONTAL ID! Insanity. The door guy couldn’t even have his manager give me the pass through or call anyone to double check my age, just shut me down on a day that my friends wanted to celebrate for me. One Star. Seemed like a cool spot, how embarassing that you would shut someone down because of the shape of their ID. I won’t be going back there.

Worst bar experience I’ve had. The bartender was rude — I asked for a beer and he never came back. When the bill finally arrived, not only were there hidden charges, but they also added a tip without my permission. That is dishonest and unacceptable. If you want to be treated with respect and charged fairly, avoid this place.

Go here fairly often. Food is always great and the beer selection is pretty darn good! The fried pickles are super good along with honestly anything else on the menu.

2/20/2025 I've got to update this to a post COVID score. I've been here a few times now 2023 - Present and it has not kept it's vibe. If you're cool with dive bar and high prices fine. The food dropped right off a cliff. Prices are high and beer selection is only okay. That is about it not much to say. I've had some fun at this place, but generally I've kept it to a work crowd gathering spot for a beer or two then grab dinner someplace else.

8/12/2025: Definitely has it's vibe back. Feels it did when I first moved to Woodinville from Renton. Happy to see people are happy and the food is pretty good. Drinks are the standard flare and it's a fun place to watch a game or hang. This is definitely a few steps above my old Renton bars... Cheers

The chicken wings are super yummy here! I have tried to garlic Parmesan wings and by far the best I've had in a while. Good food and service close to the movie theater so I stop by before hand. Quick and easy.
