Village Wines

So I really want to love this place. I keep trying. I have been approx 10 times. The service is friendly and prompt. The wine selection is amazing. Food is pretty good. Truffle Popcorn is delicious!! Salads are also good and they have lots of shareable plates.
BUT
The seating is beyond uncomfortable (springs poking up from the stools) it just doesn’t invite staying long (without sitting in your coat for padding)
And all the fried items seem to have a smokey/burnt flavor that indicates the oil desperately needs changing in the fryer. In addition the kitchen hood may need service because the restaurant smells like smokey oil (and hair and clothes do as well after departure). Flatbreads were soggy, over cheesed and lacking toppings.
I will keep trying - maybe Santa will bring new seats and cooking oil for Christmas!

Had the privilege of finally seeing all my friends together and we chose this establishment. Big mistake. From the loud atmosphere to the awkward seating, I should have taken my business elsewhere. My first confusion came from the tipping percentages that did not add up when I got my 2nd receipt back to sign. And then again when I checked my bank statement today and my receipt didn’t match what was taken from my bank. I’ll be it is a small incremental change but it’s a factual difference of what I agreed to pay.

Very disappointing we've been coming in for years. Menu changed food very disappointing would not accommodate anything. Must be under new ownership or management not the same at all. Won't be back

Went for a cookie decorating class in a back room. Nice enough. Wine was average. Worst parking ever. Git there about 6pm and no place to park. Restaurant sits in an odd area so no options. Meh.

The best place around for a variety of great wines and amazing food at reasonable prices. The staff is top-notch and hustles nonstop. We are here 2+ times a week over the years and it doesn’t disappoint. Lots of regulars and the menu changes a bit seasonally so it’s always fresh and new.

Excellent wine bar. Live music on Thursdays. Plates of sardines and oysters were good. French fries excellent. Reminder us our home pub at Maastricht in the Netherlands. Definitely a place to follow for more.
