Great place. Very friendly staff. Breakfast barrito was killer. Coffee and pastry or a meal, you can't go wrong.

Hands down the best Reuben sandwich I've ever had. Their fries are yummy and bottomless. The iced tea steeps in a specialized pot on the table, then is ready to drink in a few minutes. Very cool. The service was great. We were in a party of over a dozen people and the waitress was a trooper. Our young son had a melt down and we needed to leave in a hurry. The waitress graciously stopped what she was doing and quickly boxed our food up for us. Definitely recommend this place.

Food and service were both outstanding. I had the pot roast over garlic mash and my girlfriend had the tilapia. All food locally sourced and cooked to perfection. We split the apple crisp cheesecake with homemade vanilla ice cream for dessert. Only thing lacking was decor. Seemed kitschy and outdated. Dusty knick-knacks an empty bakery case, and gas station Pepsi cooler in store front left a bit to be desired. Everything else, spot on. Jenn, the hostess was friendly and prompt. Would definitely go back to this small town hole-in-the-wall.

Jennifer and Steve are great hosts. The Grandma's Pot Roast reminded me of pot roast when I was a child. The strawberry shortcake was made with fresh-picked berries and served without additional sugar. Great food and hospitality. I will come back again.

The food was fantastic, Jennifer was a wonderful hostess, waitperson and an excellent part of a three part harmony. It so happened that two to her friends came in to eat and the three of them harmonized a song for our anniversary. It was wonderful. If you are in the Alma area make sure that you make it a point to stop and eat at Tansy's.

Our experience at Tansy's on Main for New Year's was extraordinary. Charming atmosphere-small cosy, and nicely decorated which created a charming and festive atmosphere. The meal was excellent- our party had both entrees- Beef Wellington and Linguine Oysters Rockefeller. My order of beef was rare as ordered and the pastry flaky, beef very flavorful. Salad and deserts were great also. Service very good. the price was reasonable also. Anyone who missed this missed a great meal and time for a very reasonable price. I just hope they continue with the wonderful food and atmosphere.

The one disappointment of an otherwise great weekend was Tansy's. The potato and leek soup was bland and watery. The toasted bread on my BLT was so dry it disintegrated. Won't be back.

This is a must-visit. The quality and presentation of the food was outstanding, and it was absolutely delicious. It was difficult to choose what to order because I wanted to try everything. Staff was very friendly. I wish there were more places like this in small-town Wisconsin. We will definitely be stopping here again next time we are in the area.

Stopped in the afternoon for tea and a treat. This place had very good loose tea. The owner came to our table to talk about the tea and the local farm providers. The stop was much better than we expected.

We were attending the Big River Radio Show and were looking for a place to dine before the show. My husband had the Blackened Tilapia which he raved about. I had the Pot Roast which was almost as good as mine. I am gluten intolerant and was thrilled to find the GF Vegan Carrot cake which was packed with carrots, raisins and nuts held together by cashew frosting. A healthy and yummy dessert. We both had wine and were impressed by the healthy pour in stemless wine glasses no less. We'd happily stop here again if we were in the area just to visit the friendly staff.

The owners were so sweet to open early so the hungry shoppers in town could eat some fantastic "foody" food. Homemade pasta and everything else. Yummy, from scratch desserts and a wide variety of teas and wine. And soooo accommodating.

Outstanding food, with lots of options for vegetarians, gluten free, and even vegan. Try the cauliflower soup - it is truly wonderful. Had one of the best-cooked fish sandwiches I have ever tasted, and my wife's Greek salad was also fresh and delicious. Nice service from the friendly owners. Wish this was in our town.

My mom and I went to Tansy's on Main on the suggestion of a friend, whose business is across the street, Colors of Joy, and we are so glad Jean suggested it. The owners, Jennifer and Steve, are down to earth, hard working people who get healthy great, organic food. The place seats about 40 people and the food is locally sourced as much as possible and/or is organic - no antibiotic - no hormone- pesticide free food. We ordered a bottle of wine, which was reasonably priced and fantastic. My mom ordered the Blackened Tilapia Sandwich with housemade tomato...soup and I ordered the Grass-Fed Burger on housemade Vegan Bun with housemade pickles and Blue Cheese Cole Slaw. For dessert we enjoyed the housemade fresh chocolate cake and fresh made whip cream. I believe in the slow-food movement so we enjoyed our time. Jennifer and Scott have a vision and I love their vision of great locally sourced, organic foods served up and when they run out of something it is because the source locally is out. If you want fast food, food with lots of salt added to drown out the real flavor DO NOT eat here. If you want to taste the food, savor the food flavors, then EAT HERE. The only things I would like to see added because I am a craftbeer snob, is beer on draft and I mean great craftbeer and a great cup of organic fresh ground coffee. Other than that, Cheers to a wonderful meal.

I recently visited Tansy's while spending a night in Alma. Food: The menu ranged from sandwiches to burgers to pasta/fish entrees. So it's likely you will find something you will like. The waitress mentioned that they use fresh, local ingredients so I appreciated that. For an appetizer, I had the broccoli, leek soup which was a bit too bland for my liking. For entrees, I had the Reuben which was very tasty and my date had the Tilapia sandwich which he really enjoyed. We both loved the bleu cheese coleslaw (4 stars). Bar: Right now, there isn't much of a bar. I do hope that changes. The bar was empty when we get there and the selections ranged from a few beers to wine. I'm assuming they might still be working out a a liquor license or something. We were a little bothered to find that we were charged $5.00 for a bottle of beer. That seemed a bit steep (2 stars). Environment: This is the one area that we felt the place could really improve. When you walk in, it isn't that inviting. The bar was completely empty with nothing in or around it. There is a bit soda refrigerator that holds the beverages which just seems out of place. The walls/ceiling/lighting are all a bit boring. The ceiling is the standard white paneled (foam?) ceiling and the lights were fluorescent. I think with the right lighting and decor, this place could feel very cozy and inviting (2 stars). I do enjoy visiting Alma, so I do hope this place sticks around. That town needs a good dinner establishment and hopefully with some little improvements, this will be the place.
