Not sure if our waitress/owner was having a bad day, her attitude seemed awful towards us. No substitutions! I mentioned they forgot to give me something and she looked at me with a mean face. She seemed to be friendly with the locals. She made sure to be friendly with us right at tipping time. Strange. The atmosphere of the interior was very pleasant. The soup was luke warm to cool. I would prefer much hotter, but the food tasted great! If person was friendlier and food hotter, I would give a higher rating.

This restaurant is fabulous!! We stumbled on it while traveling and were so happy to find it!! The food was amazing, and the service was quick. We thought the prices were very reasonable. My husband had the fried whitefish and it was crisp and not at all greasy. The sides were great as well. I had the whitefish chowder and the vegetable wrap. Both exceeded my expectations. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. AND—there was live music—a harpist was playing!! We were so thankful to find such a great place to eat!!

Disappointing. Only two tables and service was super slow. Server / owner seemed disinterested in us. chatting it up with the other table but abrupt taking our order. . Ordered a burger medium that came out well done. Never came back to check after food delivered. Just not that friendly or interested in customer experience.

Our first impression of the restaurant was rather sober, and the service was a bit surly. However, the ice was broken after a short while, and by the end, we were best friends with the waitress.
For our main course, we both had freshly caught fish, which was extremely delicious. You should definitely try the Bloody Mary if you like that kind of drink.

Had the crab cakes and walleye sandwich. Very good, would recommend both. Our server was a little frazzled but maybe he was new. We were not in a hurry so no big deal.
Stopped in on our way through and was so pleasantly surprised by this place! It had a live harp player!! The food was delicious, service was friendly and quick, the music was beautiful. Was a serendipitous lunch stop today.
Had dinner here. Service was ok, lots of personality. I had cheese curds which were good, little too much batter it seemed. Bacon jam was ok. Was told white fish was caught earlier that day so had a fried whitefish sandwich. The bread was a little thick for the size of the fish, but the caper dill sauce and butter lettuce added to it. Overall very decent sandwich
Burger looked good. My colleague had that.
It wasn’t busy but seemed a little higher price for the area.

My husband and I have been traveling since 28 May from NS Canada and travelled to Anchorage AK and arrived here in Ashland today. We have had some great meals along the way, but tonight's meal of the Pan Fried Fresh Lake Superior Whitefish was truly one of the best. Everything cooked perfectly and just enough heat in the curry sauce. The fresh berry tart was delicious as well...not overly sweet. Well done Chef!!!
