OMG the best food in Ashland. Fresh and delicious! My elderly parents love it too as do my friends when I ask us to join us! We live in the rural wilderness, but when we go to Ashland...wowwee...this is the place indeed!

The food is outstanding very good. They definitely give you flour tortillas because I’m white. But still good. Very nice people working here as well

I lived above this restaurant for almost a year and a half. Is is BY FAR my favorite restaurant in the surrounding area (including Duluth!). The staff/owners are exceptionally friendly and the restaurant is cute and clean. I would strongly recommend the choripollo or the quesadillas. The margaritas are HUGE!!! This was my first experience living on my own and in a town where I didn't know anyone-- Taqueria La Monarca helped immensely with my transition. It is easy to see that this restaurant is a cornerstone of community for people in the area. 10/10 would recommend!

We stopped her after a long hike and it hit the spot like nothing I could imagine. I had the pastor burrito lunch which came smothered in cheese sauce with a side of fantastic beans and rice (and obviously had a margarita). My husband had the fajitas lunch with the biggest beer I ever saw, and darn.... Was it good! The service was great—friendly and warm but not overbearing—they had lovely music on and the place was abuzz!
We even snuck in some churros which were beyond delicious.
Casual, low fuss, delicious, and such a good place to stop if your in Ashland!

Hands down the best Mexican food within 300 miles. Absolutely suggest coming here especially if you are near the Ashland WI area. Great Mexican tap beer like Modelo and Pacifico with cold glasses and fresh limes. They also have a very wide variety of locally house made hot sauces that were incredible.

Staff was amazing and explained menu choices. Price was great. Food was phenomenal!! Margs were outstanding as well. Waiter was friendly and humorous. Second time I’ve been there so had my friends go this time and they all loved it.

In town visiting a friend and tried this place out. Looks nice inside, the staff was all very nice and on top of things even though it was quite busy. I got the chimichangas. They were tasty, as was the rice it came with but the refried beans were quite thin and watery which I'm not into. Overall it was a good experience though and when I am back in town I'd like to try it again.
