Ashlynn was great! We loved the small plate app specials. Perfect to try a lot of different flavors.
Sad that this place got too full of themselves. Use to be great! Food use to be inventive and fun/ flavorful etc. Now, a chaotic mess with sub par food and cocktails. We s o wanted to be singing a different tune. We won't be back.
We had a very disappointing experience at Chives. We arrived early for our reservation and were seated immediately. Unfortunately, there was a medical emergency at the time, but it was handled discreetly and did not impact the experience. Our server was friendly and seemed very inexperienced. She took our order for an appetizer of chicken wonton, which we enjoyed. She asked us to order or entree when she delivered the appetizer and we asked her to come back when we finished the appetizer. She did not return for a very long time and engaged in conversation with other guests for about 15 minutes until we had to walk over to her and ask her to take our order. No apology from her. We waited almost an hour amd a half for our food. It was fairly busy but our reservation was at 5:15. We finally asked the host about the delay and the server came to our table to say that she checked on our order and that it was being made. We remarked that it had been a long wait and she told us that it was because we didn't order our entree at the same time as the appetizer and that the kitchen didn't have adequate time to prepare our food. We enjoyed our single glass (excellent) glass of wine long before the food arrived. When the server arrived she said "I assure you it was worrh the wait." The artichoke vegetarian pasta was average at best. The fresh sprouts were outstanding and the asparagus was fresh. Noodles were mushy and drenched in oil. The whitefish was average with dried up and crunchy fingerling potatoes. It's a beautiful restaurant with a farm to table menu but didn't meet expectations. The server handed us a box of macaron cookies as we left.
Outstanding from beginning to end! We travel internationally a lot and this was one of the best meals we've ever had! Carlton took great care of us, sharing his knowledge of the menu and superb customer service. The flavors found in every dish were incredibly layered - and the pastry chef, oh my! A better anniversary celebration meal could not be found. Thank you to the whole team at Chives - keep doing what you're doing.
Came specifically for the Cherry Bread Pudding French Toast & it was taken off the menu. Need to update your online menu accordingly.
Great job by everyone, Carlton is fantastic as always, and lots of fun having Lucas pop by to explain new cocktails. Favorite restaurant in Wis!
The waiter, although very knowledgeable, the time in-between table visits was very long. Also, there was a significant delay in getting our entrees, so the waiting was a bear. The food did make up for the delays, but also caused for a much longer dining experience than expected
Sat at bar then sat down at our table for 6. Great service. Everyone very personable. Food superb.
The team at Chives never fails to execute flawlessly. From greeting to deprture you are treated as a secial guest. The new renovations made a great space even better, and the culinary staff continues to flex their muscles with a fine menu and great specials. Couple that with a fine wine list, craft cocktails, and excellent service, and you have an exceptional dining experience. Chives is where we go for family celebrations or just to have a great meal
Excellent service and great food. We always enjoy eating at this great Door County restaurant.

Each of the 3 of us ordered something different from the specials menu. We allowed a taste of everything to be shared. We all loved each of the dishes. Creative and flavorful. Delicious. The Trio appetizer is also a favorite. Attentive and knowledgeable staff and great drinks were also appreciated.
The fancy potatoes were delicious!! Overall, food and service were outstanding. Love the location and ambience . Brunch was a wonderful Easter treat for our family!
We always make Chives one of our go to restaurants when visiting. Always delicious food and great service. The mussels and frites as well as the chicken Marsala are some of our favorites.
This was my first time eating at Chives, and I will definitely be back! Loved the atmosphere inside, warm and casual. Service was great, and the food was outstanding! I had the duck frites and it was one of the best duck preparations I've ever had. I highly recommend Chives for a nice dinner out.
We were traveling through DC and staying in Bailey's Harbor. A good friend recommended Chives as a favorite restaurant. Even though we reside in the SF, CA bay area, Chives will be added to a list of all time favorites. We had a delicious dinner, wine and excellent service. We appreciated the low noise level so we could talk and hear each other after a long drive from Madison. My husband had the ribeye cutlet, it was so wonderfully seasoned and tender, along with a cute cup of fries and an elegantly served salad in a cup. I had a caesar salad with added shrimp and we both thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and we could walk from our B & B. Thanks for making our first night and stay in DC so fun, enjoyable and delicious.
